Tell me about this group!
I keep searching for a "home" here at DU. I liked hanging out in R/T but lately it has been like watching Keystone Cops reruns. Over and over again. Same old same old. I really, really enjoy discussions and like when they get a bit edgy but lately they've been over the edge.

I'm Episcopalian, life-long, raised in a convent boarding school for a time. I've had a lot of angst-producing decisions to make recently when my church split into an Anglican congregation: leave or stay? leave or stay? I decided to stay.

T-Grannie

1. it's pretty casual in here
there are arguments, but they are disagreements that are discussed, not monkeys screaming and throwing feces.

In general, we discuss issues of theology and religious practice, and see how the other denominations do things.

2. I haven't been here much, either
But so far, it beats the hell out of R/T. Of course, that's setting the bar pretty low. I like not having to argue with conservatives that I really AM a Christian, nor with atheists that I'm not a drooling idiot. Refreshing!

3. The people are friendly,
the water's fine and the discussions are--well, dang, they're discussions! No flamefests, no slanging matches. Very refreshing.

7. Hi, T-Grannie!
Nice to have you with us! :hi:

I personally refuse to go to Religion/Theology. Way too much anger over there. Here, we try to abide by our mission statement (pinned at the top of the listings). You are welcome here, as is anyone, who wants to discuss matters of faith and God, free from the insults or challenges to our beliefs.

I think you'll like it. :)
