(OK, the lilac is purple ... but still :) )

... and the storcks are out and clattering

... and a peacock is showing off

1. "Wenn der weisse Flieder wieder blüht...." that wonderful song about white lilac
in bloom is now stuck in my head.
Thank you for making me "home"sick. Lilac and a stork, that will really do it.

I planted lilac here in my yard, and this year (3years later) it is BLOOMING.
Thank you Miss Honeychurch.

These are a sight for sore eyes to me. The peacock photo is well framed and startling because I just don't get to see that myself.
Happy Spring!

2. In case you want to listen to the song again
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Axup79QgIyU

You just HAVE to post a picture of your own lilac!!!

That peacock kept screaming. Took us a while to find him. He was high up in the building.

Do you see him?

3. I should be at work, but now I'm singing and taking photos of lilac for you.
I played the song of course, and immediately thought of the Comedian Harmonists as I heard it, and when it was over, that's who came on.
You're making my morning.
What a magnificent building that is! It can't be a wild peacock? Is it? I know so little.

Here's my young lilac tree

And it smells divine, next year I'll cut bouquets for myself

The plant, now 6 feet tall - after being a 5 dollar sprig 3 years ago

4. How nice
looks like it was a great deal :) Even though I didn't know it took lilacs so long to grow.

I took the pictures in an open air museum, so the peacock is probably not too wild.

5. I love! love! love! lilacs!!! I will lean in and just soak up the scent.
Nice shots! I got some shots of the lilacs at Luisenpark the other day. (in between sniffing)

I'm leaving Germany soon. Hubby took a new job and it requires a move back to the states. We were moving to Ansbach but he decided on another job, so.... :(

I'm very sad about it. I adore living here. The people, the places, the food, the pace...everything. I just fit right in....and now. :(

Germany is wonderful. It's been my home for a long time now and I would gladly call it home for the rest of my life if I could. Who knows...maybe we'll come back to retire.

9. Those lilacs are just beautiful!
Spring is late here, so no lilacs yet.

But daffodils are popping out - finally!
