The negative image I chose not to enter.
Just like that boring uncle who breaks out the slide projector and makes you sit through the pictures of his friends in the Good Sam Club down at the KOA of Hooterville, I'm not going to waste this image I call "poolside". The photo was taken at the Lake Tavern in Mecca Ohio near my home on the shores of beautiful Mosquito Lake (really):

I still like "Mar Pacifico" better, and feel it was a good choice.
Early congratulations are in order for the finalists, and good luck to all.

1. This is a great photo, and certainly
would have made a wonderful entry. I commiserate with you about choosing photos, but I typically just go with my instinct and something I like and feel worthy of the contest.

Gosh, I can just picture playing pool with the doors wide open while swatting mosquitoes! What fun . . . really!

2. Love this!
And love to see everyone's also rans. I kept changing my mind up until entry time, too. Finally I saw Mira's description of negative space and that cemented yet a new decision.

Even though I absolutely love this photo, I applaud your choice of Mar Pacifico as your entry.

3. I like this a lot
It's an excellent representation of negative space. And yes, choosing an entry is hard. I almost made a last minute switch, even after I entered one I hadn't posted in my poll. I really obsessed this month.

4. I learn the most when I obsess. About my own and other entries. And you,
Mz Pip, did well to leave your entry just where it was. IMO
LOL

5. I think this one is marvelous. It flits in and out of negative space, I like the
back windows and the play of light on the wood balustrade the most. You did well with the one you entered, and honestly, you just simply never know what appeals.
I like this one hugely.
