It's elemental
I like following the work of Mark Humpage. Here is his 1st place entry in the Digital Photography Review Impossible Mission challenge, of his E-5 after a night out in -10 C weather.

Here's a time lapse video of it taken by an E-3 over the course of the -10 C night:

And here is a link to his site, where you can see what comes of this type of camera abuse (just click on the photo, it's a link to his site):

1. I'm thinking he could have got the same shot in November.
Unless it was a requirement of the challenge, that was needless camera abuse.

2. That's just a random shot from his site,

In this case it is just camera abuse, though not specifically for any contest. He takes photos in extreme conditions; the E-5 is the new top-end weatherproof/dustproof model from Oly, so he was ummmm 'breaking it in.'

edit: s/enf/end/

3. Impressive, both the cameras & the photos.
I'm really pleased with the quality of Olympus.
I wish I could afford a newer model.

6. They should probably be going down in the near future actually. Lot of E-3s and E-30's
and whatnot being sold on ebay since the E-5 has been released.

5. Actually, he feeds power from an alternate source. You'll see some videos there
on his youtube page where he leaves his camera running for 72 hours straight, taking shots every 5/10 seconds through rain/sleet etc.

8. Very good. I will take a look at his images. I will do Iceland
first because I find it a magical land for landscape photographers.

7. For me, in about 45 degree F weather, I can get about 400 photos off of
one fully charged battery, at a shot every 5 seconds.

9. I guess keeping a charged battery in an inner pocket
is a good idea in cold weather.

10. Yup - I have a little neoprene pouch that I keep my spares in (or whatever the stuff
that wetsuits are made out of). A local salvation army thrift store had a beat-up wetsuit so I bought it and cut it up to make things.
