The Alien Invasion has begun (dial up warning)
The aliens are here and they want to . . .

... samba??!?

and conga!

The world's happiest carrot welcomes our new alien overlords, on behalf of the Vegetable Kingdom

Will you dance with me?

Um... I think I'll sit this one out, if that's ok...

You guys are fun! See you again soon

Three cheers for the amazing band and "alien" parade on Granville Island. Woot!

4. Yeah, it was loads of fun
I think they perform daily at sunset, if you want to go. It's an hour-long parade

5. The carrot was hilarious and so was this guy

He's the aliens' spokesperson. He was walking up behind people and chatting with them, asking "Hey what's going on here?" or "What time is it?". You should have seen their faces when they turned around and realized he was one of the performers.

6. Your welcome!
The whole city's like this. It's like someone put silliness drugs in the water or something.

7. Far more than the games themselves
I've really liked these shots of a city enjoying itself. Thanks for sharing them!

8. There's so many good performers
I'm putting together a post, or maybe two, of some of the street performers around town. Musicians, jugglers, dancers... There's even a couple of guys trying to raise funds for a hacky-sack tournament.
