The light seems to come from within the beagle's fur. It doesn't hurt that it's a beautifully composed shot with a gorgeous model, of course.

but I have done extensive tests with all variety of tupperware, much to my wife's dismay I should add, sanding it, painting it, et cetera

none of them have the light quality this thing does
