Since there are so many people here who know so much about equipment, I need to ask this.
In the 60s and 70s, like so many other families, we went crazy for slides, not printed pictures. You could argue that they are easier to store and all that. And they have been kept in a cool, dark closet all this time, so the colors are in good shape. Although, some are now warped and I think some have suffered a little mold, but I think I can clean that off the prints.
I now want to transfer these images to digital media, so that I can let other family members more easily have copies and to better preserve them. There are about 12 trays of slides. :P
Is this something a lay person can do? How is it done?
edit: I have a Mac and a Canon printer/scanner presently.
