1. Oh Jeff, he's adorable!
Is he a mix? Obviously Shepherd, but anything else? Give Zen a scritch from me, and the Demon and SlimJim too. :hi:

2. Thank you!
His dad is a Shepherd/Husky mix, and mom is a Lab/Border Collie. He went through a long Lab phase, but Shepherd finally won the day. Husky and Collie apparently never stood a chance.

10. Hi Talley!
So many good dogs! He's a Rottweiler?

Luckily I have PLENTY of heart pieces to go around...cuz every dog and cat I see gets a chunk!

11. She has the coloring of a Rott...
but she is an Australian Cattle Dog...which she demonstrates on a regular basis by herding everything in sight! :D

Here is another shot of her:

12. A neighbor has a young Rottweiller.
When first introduced the dog (80-100 pounds of muscle with teeth at the front end) was lunging and barking at me. I like dogs and do not fear them (got sicced on by a cop-handled German Shepard during a bit of Vietnam and not bitten). But still... I assured my neighbor I was a dog lover and he relaxed his grip on the leash and I was quickly pounced on and licked with great enthusiasm. A giant puppy with the same heart that has earned the label of "best friend" over and over.

17. Yup...that's a Rott all right...
Many years ago I was traveling, and walked into the lobby of this little small town motel.

No one was there except this very large Rott who popped up from behind the counter and there with his front paws on the counter top and big ol' frog head smiling at me.

I sized him up for two shakes and saw that he was not a threat, so I started scratching him on the head...(handing him the requisite chunk o'heart)

Anywhooo, in a couple of minute the Inn Keeper comes out, sees this, and with hands on hips says, "he's supposed to be scary!"

No good...I know the breed! :-)

6. I Really like the third one.
Technically, the subject is sharp and the background generally blurred enough to not distract (the white/black stuff on the left is an exception - crop or 'shop it out).

Zen. Well Named. Being completely in the moment and expressing the complete ISness of the lord high dogness of its natural being true self. A great portrait.

13. Thanks. The deck where these were taken is a disgrace.
We'd like to crop the whole thing off the back of the house for real.x(

14. Thank you!
He gets doted on, maybe way too much, but he has a great personality and likes to make his humans happy (most of the time).

Since I work from home, I'm with him 24/7, and his enthusiasm for each new day is inspirational.

We had a very bad '07, but things changed for the better the day we brought him home last September.

16. That's wonderful!
I'm sorry you had a bad year...glad it's turned around though. Pets are so important, esp to some one like me who is Child-Free! :-)

Our apartment would be awfully big and cold with out our two giant cats, esp when Comrad Snarky travels.
