then I realized that I am not sure number 3 could be considered diagonals even though I like the geometrical representation.

although I have to agree with Maestro that I'm not sure if it counts, exactly.

But I like the perspective - it feels a little like the sketches they make you do in intro drawing classes (and that I failed miserably at). There's also some quality about the couple - they seem so comfortable together, like they've been married for 20+ years and are still happy to be with each other...but that might just be some romanticism on my part. I like that it tells a story. I think the other two are interesting and artistically sound, but this one transcends that.

I'm not crazy about the title, though. :silly:

Seriously, Nevada is cool, but I think Nebraska is more angular.

Actually, I liked Nevada a lot, but Colorado also looked good. But I'm not making any recommendations, since I'm hosting the contest.

Seems that Nevada, the title of which is being unreasonably questioned :), may not actually qualify as a diagapoo. There are also those that have decided to attack the message and not the messenger. A clear violation of DU rules.

If I enter Nevada it may cause an enourmous shit storm over what IS and IS NOT a digapoo. I can see it now.... threads getting locked..... people suckin' granite. The logical choice then.... has to be... Colorado. But... if I enter Colorado what will the people who voted for Nevada think? Either way I'm screwed. You know, it's times like this that I wish I had a kitty.

12. The first one does it for me, totally

but the third one probably has the wow factor voters will go for. It's also a nice take on diagonals because it sets the diagonals off against the curved and the horizontal elements. That gives the diagonals more punch. And all that blue is seductive.

But I had to go with the first one. Great photo!

I suck at Themes. I was just going by the literal definition of diagonal being an oblique line. And if I'm anything..... I'm certainly oblique.
