Negative political ads may fire up voters
For example, when a group of swift-boat veterans attacked John Kerry in their ads, it took the Kerry campaign six weeks to respond. Many scholars and pundits called it a missed opportunity for Kerry to defend himself against the charges. The result was the lingering questions about Kerry's character, which was all the difference that mattered in a close race.

Does anyone have time to reply to the writer? I have to run to work, but I think the professor needs a history lesson.

Thanks!
