I am SO glad I remembered that this group exists!
Otherwise I'd have to stop posting on DU. Seriously. My gawd, I take a week and a half's sabbatical and come back and the place has turned into something resembling a certain Mordorian web forum that shall go unnamed.

What HAPPENED to DU??? It's so HOSTILE all of a sudden. I swear there is more hate for Kerry than for those who deserve it.

:hi: to everyone and :loveya: :loveya: :loveya: to Kerry.

1. yeah it has been stinking around here since Jan 6th especially
Except for here in Kerryland! :loveya:
We've been avidly following his steps through the Middle East and Europe, posting pictures of the trip like mad, and generally believing in our guy! Not to mention the late night LLL girls! :hi:

It's all been good here! A cool drink of water.

3. Well, it's highly unproductive...
I had been fairly involved in the election fraud thing, as involved as one could be from 1000 miles away... now that the grassroots effort has wrapped up and it's Rep. Conyers' people's project to finish, I took a breather.

But I'm still interested in that... I am a software developer. The state of things DISGUSTS me and I am working on something that I hope will help fix it (or maybe I should say UN-"fix" :P), which, incidentally, Kerry's office knows about--although I doubt he personally does, being still in the Middle East.

I used DU as a resource for breaking news and information on election fraud/voting reform, but it seems to have lost its usefulness for that.

But I also still :loveya: Kerry.

5. LLL stands for
Edited on Fri Jan-14-05 09:59 PM by TayTay
Libidinous Liberal Lasses.
(After the DU crackdown on randy threads it also stands for)
Ladies like librarians. (Loosely) (Longingly) (Laughingly)

There are some women in here who are, ahm, ardent supporters of John Kerry. They appreciate the man for more than just his intellect. Campaign pictures tend to get ooohhhed and awwwwed over. And several of the LLL have futures waiting for them in, ah, creative writing.

Hey, we just went through a bad election, a crappy off season at DU and the excruciating threat of seeing * crowned in place of a much better guy. They were, ah, blowing off steam.

By the way, welcome and thanks for all the hard work on the election irregularities. I believe this will pay off. (It's just so hard because the Rethugs control everything. Alternative means must be found.)

edit: I still can't spell. Methinks the lady doth transpose too much.

6. Ahhh.. Gotcha.
I think I caught hints of LLLisms in ER&D awhile back. It struck me as funny and cool; I happen to find the guy rather hot myself. (*mild blush... he's over twice my age*) It's just that he's the closest to my ideal that I've ever known or known of.

I have a feeling there's some interesting reading material to catch up on, if the threads haven't been deleted... am I right?? :7

And your thanks are much appreciated. It's pretty thankless work at times. (*passing on the "hard work" quip*) Nonbelievers I can deal with; people are entitled to their opinion and the question of how much fraud there was WILL be settled in the coming months, I think. But ad hominem attacks ("tinfoil hat") and ridicule are something else.

BTW, there ARE alternative means of fixing the problem. (I won't go into too much detail yet on my specific idea -- this is a work in progress and I haven't seen anything quite like it elsewhere, and this IS a public board.) But the "infrastructure," so to speak, to shut Diebold et al. OUT and have actual accountability, exists already. So take heart in that.

7. The 'hard work' remark was inadvertent
sorry. (I didn't self-censor.) I actually thought it would be exhausting Real Work. God bless ya. People such as yourself and the other folks who worked on this are true Patriots and the real heroes of our democracy. I happen to believe that the kind of crap Blackwell pulled in Ohio amounts to treason against the Republic. This -will- come out. Saying thanks to you doesn't express the amount of gratitude I feel by a long shot.

And yes, some of the LLL threads got a bit ahm illustrative.

The LLL string is actually longer than that:

Libidinous Liberal Lasses Love Looking Longingly at Lanky Leaders.

LLL is the short form. (Hey, it's been rough here at DU lately.) I chose Libidinous because there was a high probability that freepers wouldn't know what it meant. (Apparently I was wrong.) Good old Democratic longing (we are still Democrats and things like this are still okay for free-wheeling Dems, right?) should still be allowed, just kind of scaled back. It did get very wild in here.

Any of the "WOULD YOU HIT THAT?" threads (the earlier ones are the best - we were still unleashed then), and the WMD thread is a goody too.

Welcome to the Kerry group! :hi: I am a proud member of the LLL and John Kerry's future lover (he just doesn't know it yet).

Ah, what the heck.. I'll bite. If what appears to be innuendo actually is, the references to size are what I'm guessing they are, and it isn't just my mind being dirty, I bet it was fun... wasn't it. And so DU has cracked down on you bad girls?

Our fun has been slightly stifled. However, we still enjoy talking about the sexiness of Big John... only in a more discreet fashion. He is the epitome of masculinity, as far as I am concerned. Sigh... :loveya:

11. Hi WEL
How are things in Wisc, ahm, Illinois. Are you back on campus yet?

You know why the fun got curtailed. CU got ahold of your saucy wench postings and put them up out of context. (I'm not sure there is a context for them, but I digress.) And DU just went through that 'we got bad publicity in the NYTimes' thing and well, there you are.

And you and Vektor are the unquestioned poster girls for LLL. I cannot go there girlfriend. (Well, not all the way there, anyway.) I suffer from a very bad case of 'Catholic girl upbringing.'

But there is this certain snowboarding pic, ahhhhh.

BWAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!

I hope all those freepers shat themselves in disgust!

Seriously... MWAAAHAHAHA. They have NO room to talk. I read the freeperville thread containing 200 posts of CHENEY lust. That's right; CHENEY. Various "dick" jokes ensue. It was pukeworthy, to be sure, but hilarious. I mean, at least John is actually hot. I know freepers aren't *all there*, but DICK CHENEY??

Tee heee.....

Ah, sadly, I'm not back on campus yet. Still at home with this POS computer. I NEED to save about 25 of those SEXY Kerry pix to my hardrive once I get back to school... you know, future fodder for Big John Love threads.

I second the  re: the snowboarding pic. And I raise you one for the pool pic. Arrrg... he's so sexy it should be illegal!

Tomorrow night! It will be a  time.

Ah, a subdued LLL thread will still be loads o' fun. I can do subtle innuendo (hard as it may be for you to believe).

There may have to be lots more  suggestion than :o explicit detail. Which is fine by me.

Ahhh.... John... :loveya:

"Would You Hit This, Part II" gets the gold medal. No question about it. GOOD WORK!

So you're going through withdrawal now, then? Hmm... I'm feeling very LIBERAL and generous tonight. (It's the effect of seeing all those fine Kerry pictures, methinks.) I'll see what can be done about that. I have 500 MB of space and 25 GB/mo. bandwidth on my webhost, and I'll never get close to using it on a strictly personal not-for-profit site. If you ("you" including Vektor and others of like, uh, minds) WANT a private, no-restrictions NC-17 forum to cut loose, I can set up phpBB and give the URL out.

Not sure about that though, so no promises. If I post the link, I can easily see Freepers and the like trying to use up my bandwidth.

You all sure know how to make someone feel welcome.

Yeah, it'd be pretty much unrestricted. I'm paying for the hosting, so I can have basically anything I want as long as it doesn't break the law. But it *would* have to be private. I do fantasy artwork and have it posted on a couple of "art gallery" sites, where I tend to have a lot of under-18's leaving comments. I wouldn't have a prominent "X-Rated Kerry Lust Forum" URL on the homepage or anything, but you just never know what kids will stumble upon.

I say "kids" when I'm barely of legal drinking age myself. *sigh, shakes head*

Us non-tech-geek types are counting on you and others with those kinds of talents to sort this out for us--it remains the #1 priority for getting back to honest democracy in this country! We can do everything else perfectly, but if they hack the machines, it's all worthless.

Let us know what you are doing, if and when you can! :)

30. I would love to spill.
It's not that I distrust anyone HERE, but like I said... public forum. That Freepers read. Unfortunately.

Let's see. I have several ducks lined up, actually. There is a very easy way to force Diebold, or whoever, to open up the source code at least to security experts who can examine it, if not to the general public. It doesn't involve creating any new agencies, just writing something into legislation.

There is also a software "movement" called Open Source whose BASIS is that having the code publicly available fosters security, trust in the software, and generally improves the product itself.

My specific idea, I really don't want to speak much of yet, nor make them public until I have the finished product. Suffice it to say that I have detailed designs for... highly secure and reliable vote tallying systems. I am a software engineer and I have had to write secure code before.

Oh, and Kerry's office staff knows about it. They don't HAVE copies yet of the prototypes, but they were very interested in it and took a detailed message when I called them a couple of days ago.

He's on this reform thing. You can rest assured of that. :)

And me? Well, it'd be nice to make some money on this, but that is truly not my motivation. I'll do it completely for free if that's the only way.

2. Don't sweat it, the upcoming coronation is doing it
It's another case of "you say potato and I say Potahto, let's call the whole thing off." (I'm feeling whimsical tonight.)

People will be grumpy for awhile yet to come. The Deaniacs are having a major sulk because there are people here who aren't suffering quite as much as they should be. Honestly, if I didn't know better I would swear that all Deaniacs come from Woody Allen movies. (I never felt anything until Dr. Dean came on the scene. He opened my eyes, made me feel passionate about something again. I just think he should be annointed head puhbar by acclamation.) Sometimes Deaniacs sound like escapees from soft-porn movies.

The Kucinich people are bopping along, doing their Dennis thing and kind of milling around with the Deaniacs and trying to get them to cheer up. (At least you had a campaign. We had protest gatherings. We would have died for a chance to flame out on $50 million with a third place showing in Iowa. We were the protest candidate, until Dean showed up. But we never got far enough to be bitter. You poor Dean bastards.)

So, how's by you?

The general naysayers are flaming away at anything that moves. (Quick, a positive post, shoot it. It's still moving, quick, let's threaten to become Greens. Gawd knows if we stay Democrats and work together to achieve unity, we might actually win something and then we have to give up being depressed. Someone might invite me to a party for chrissakes! My whole constructed belief in the futile existence of man and the inevitability of failure and defeat might have to have a good rethink. Oh no! Here, let me dump on Kerrry again. I'm feeling worse, the happy moment was only temporary. Whew!)

And so it goes. I think it will get better after Feb. 12th when the new DNC Chair, whoever it may be, gets chosen.
