In honor of our anniversary (And the fact that I now have some free time)
It time for that annual survey! (Yeah! Survey, cuz my last one worked out *SO* well. :scared: That one made me write on a blackboard 100 times, never ask on the internet what sex are you cuz the answer always comes back: yes, please. :scared: )

Anyway, it has been more than a year for this group and we have grown by leaps and bounds. So, just to celebrate, I wanted another geography survey. (Cuz I now do know the difference between Illinois and Wisconsin. Yeah me!)

So, check in, and show how diverse we are. Where are you from (city and state, or just state if you are shy.) I think we have picked up people and it would be intereting to see how much of the US we cover. (And Europe with our much loved Europegirl.)

I think this survey is gong to work out so much better than the last one. :scared: I hope.

As ProSense says "Corzine won! " proving once and for all we are a very blue state. That was a very very nasty race.

9. Wisconsin here
Light blue state which went to Kerry and Gore.

Two Dem senators: Herb Kohl and Russ Feingold

Dem governor: Jim Doyle, who is up for re-election in 2006 and has two Repubs snapping at his heels at the moment, vying for the nomination to challenge his seat. Our state legislature unfortunately is Republican-dominated, but Doyle has the power of the line-item veto!

Reps: evenly divided between parties:

Four Republicans: Ryan, Petri, Green, Sensenbrenner
Four Democrats: Tammy Baldwin, Ron Kind, Gwen Moore, and David Obey

Me? I live in Southeastern WI, commuting distance from Milwaukee. We also like to go there to visit the Milwaukee Art Museum, the two arthouse movie theaters, and the fabulous restaurants.

18. Pittsburgh, PA
The left side of Pennsylvania. For some ungodly reason, the home of two republican senators, one not so bad, the other defies description.

Actually, I live in a suburb of Pittsburgh...Kennedy Township (yay!!!)
How cool is that?

20. Virginia Beach, Virginia
But I come from very blue Connecticut originally AND I'm married to a European. Oh, and my Mom is from Massachusetts and my Grandpa worked on the JFK election in '60, and was even a delegate for the state of Mass. that year (but couldn't afford to go to the convention). I'm not sure where my heart belongs, as I have lived away from New England for so long. Home will always be where my family is, whether it's red, blue, purple, or a foreign land.

21. Lowell, Massachusetts
Born and raised in Lowell, and just moved back here about 6 months ago. I've lived in MA my whole life. As states go, we're bluer than blue, except for Gov. Mittens and Lt. Gov. Barbie in the State House. Mittens will be gone in a year, and hopefully we won't get stuck with Barbie for another 4 years.

25. Chandler, Az
Suburb of Phoenix.

Az - home of the embarrassing Senators and Reps - I have to claim JD Hayworth (altho we have a couple great dems in the House)

And a democrat governor that was ranked the 6th best guv in the US.

And we have a special visitor coming on Monday - or should I say an alien??? Bsh is coming to show his support to Kyl whose seat is up in '06, and Kyl is actually happy that Bsh is coming - barf. Kerry has already thrown his support to Kyl's opponent, and I am anxiously awaiting to hear that Kerry will be coming to stir things up around here.... so Senator Kerry...if you're listening....
