Sad to hear about losing your parents. That you tell their story makes yours very special.
I look forward to reading more about your introduction to politics. I think Sen Kerry brought that same inspiration you describe to a lot of us. I was fascinated by McGovern as a (very) young girl, and inspired by my dad to follow Dem politics. I haven't been as intrigued by a candidate until last year. I love Bill, Al, Jimmy; but none of them have influenced my thinking in quite the same way as JK, not since I was 12, and licking envelopes at my local Dem HQ for my first candidate (that was actually my job, LOL).
Thanks for sharing, and for bringing back some good memories.

3. You've already hooked me in, Little Clarkie, with your first post!

The best blogs put a bit of themselves in, and I feel like I know where you're coming from already (I'm pretty much a moderate at DU, too but a Commie to my Va. Beach neighbors). By the way, years back I used to live in the Neenah/Appleton area -- totally religious and Republican. I would get into huge arguments with people, and didn't fit in very well. Now I once again live in a very conservative area, yet I've learned how to better "disagree without being disagreeable" (Obama). I will definitely check in with your blog.
