JK and THK at Tim Russert's funeral
Edited on Wed Jun-18-08 07:59 PM by fedupinBushcountry

NBC news anchor Brian Williams, left, talks with Sen. John Kerry, D-Mass., center, as they arrive at Holy Trinity Church in the Georgetown neighborhood of Washington, Wednesday, June 18, 2008, for the funeral of NBC's Tim Russert. NBC "Today" show host Matt Lauer is at right.

He was also on Hardball after the Memorial service, hopefully someone got the video. Link to video http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/3036697/

Edited to add video link

1. Just heard the usual 4 hr later repeat will be a memorial service in total.

There is so much about the friendships and reasonableness that does not translate during these news programs. Coverage and information conveyed would be more helpful with that infused humanity.

Wonder how many felt guilt pangs after 2004, from their mis-characterization, or not correcting the lies.

3. unlikely any of them did as they did it again in 2006 with the botched joke
and more recently with the bs about Rev Wright.

the only one that did was Dan Rather and none of them came to his defense.

and i don't think Brian Williams or Matt Lauer are good reporters.

4. JK's grace is all the more impressive for the disservice much of the MSM
did him. Amazing that he can hold calm and reasonable conversations with MSM folks who did him no favors in 2004 or later. The guy has class.

5. Thanks so much for posting this.
Kerry quite naturally is a good one to talk to on days like yesterday. He always knows the right thing to say.

6. I loved this
JK is so absolutely natural and warm in this interview, as is Chris Matthews (well, as close as he gets!) I watched some of the other footage, too, and was surprised how moved I was by Mike Barnicle's reminiscence of his family's friendship with the Russerts. JK was quite right -- this was a day outside of politics, one of unusual humanity and introspection.
