1. There being nice to Hillary. Were they this nice to Kerry in 04, or did they
watch it unfold then report on it? They seem to be warning us ahead of time not to by into the "Lies". Oh, and I disagree with the comment that she is remarkable. Is it possible the Clinton's have gotten to the blogs or certain people on the blogs? I could justify what they were saying until they got to the remarkable party. I would like to know why she is so remarkable? I don't see it.

7. Oops :)
I posted a somewhat critical comment -- but I did my best to keep it very polite and also acknowledge that it was an excellent article overall, so I hope it'll be OK.

4. These guys wrote for the Patriot Project -- run by some friends of
Kerry. So, that's what makes it interesting. Part of what they said is true -- a lot of lies have been told about Hillary, especially when she was in the WH. Back then, I liked her okay. But the reason why I dislike her now is based on real evidence. Her lack of leadership in the Senate and spending political capital on the most important issues of our day and her full betrayal of Kerry one week before the 2006 elections. And, really, we need to say this has nothing to do with Kerry -- it's the fact that she would put her own interests above the party's that should give everyone pause. And, now, of course, she goes scorched earth on all the potential rivals for 2008 in less than 48 hours of starting her campaign. That's why I don't like her. Not because of some RW smears against her -- in fact, that made me like her more at the time.

6. Their purpose is to expose the smearing process - against
anyone.I don't read this as saying she is more or less smearable than Kerry - in fact the gist is what we've posted anyone can and will get smeared - unless we can raise the concisiousness of people on what is happeing and have them reject it.

In fact, other than the personal reason, the reason I was maddest at Hillary piling on was that in 2006 with the other vets - Kerry had done something remarkable as the last Presidential nominee he became an attack dog and successfully defeated at least 2 attempts to smear people running the first time for a Congressional seat. This was both the first win against the echo chamber and it was amazing that someone of Kerry's stature took the risk to do it.

When the joke happened, intially Kerry's far more measured then Clinton's rage against Wallace specifically targeted the RW who were twisting and spinning what he said into what it wasn't - and the issue seemed to be dying down - likely because the Republicans saw the refrain "stuck in Iraq" was not exactly good for them.

Hillary knew that Kerry would not even think of slamming back at her a week before the election - he's not that selfish or undiscipled (any bets on what Bill would have done if he were in that role?)

So, what was sacrificed is that this could have made the conventional wisdom become that pointing behind the curtain helps. (As it happens, it shows what we know from 2004 - you need others to defend o whatever part is really defensible.)

8. Didn't Bill defend Kerry on a radio program after the election?
At first, I was thinking they were playing good cop/bad cop. But then I got to thinking that Bill instinctively knew you don't knock somebody who's already down, an instinct Hillary doesn't have. Bill has a lot of issues, but JK has been nothing but good to him over the years, and I just don't think he would have done what Hillary did. Or am I just being naive about a former president who is quite charismatic and has fooled me?

9. He might of defended him - but he also hit him as
well. Also a comment that he liked both Kerry and Bush hurt. He also started speaking of how strong he and Hillary were on defense and how Kerry had failed to confince people he was with 3 months or so. (I guess that's because war hero Clinton just has what it takes.)

2. It seems to me they are trying to debunk the RW media for her
the same way they did it for Kerry and will if he is a candidate.

No big deal. This will be a long and hard primary, unfortunately, and we may give the GOP ammunitions for whoever will be our nominee. No need for that, whoever the nominee is.

Also, there is no question that Hillary is a professional. I do not like her and I have issues with some of her positions, but I looked at part of her website and she answered with more than just sounding bytes. She is really going to be a formidable candidate for candidates with little experience.

I would not be surprised, at the end, to see those who have experience do better against her and those who have little experience show exactly who they are during the first debates.

5. I think it's a good post, from two excellent bloggers.
It basically is saying that Hillary will have the same problem every other leading Dem has had - the RW smear machine. And not to discount her, which is true (even as much as I dislike her).

They are right about people who vaguely say "I just don't like Hillary" without knowing why. Gee, I wonder where that might have come from, hmmm? Of course, we in the Kerry group have at least one huge reason to dislike her, but I think there are a lot of people for whom their assessment is right on.
