this article on JK fundraising needs an LTE
This is not as grotesque as most Globe articles, but the opening sentences, and the general emphasis, could use a retort. (Also, why is Hillary's war chest never mentioned?? It drives me NUTS)

1. The answer, buried in page 2
Edited on Sat Oct-21-06 10:24 AM by Mass

Many prominent Democrats, including DCCC chairman Rahm Emanuel, an Illinois Democrat, have praised Kerry for spending his time and money helping candidates. Hassan Nemazee , the DSCC's national finance chairman, said criticism of Kerry is misguided.

"People have notoriously short memories in this business," Nemazee said. "Cumulatively, John Kerry has done as much if not more than any other individual senator."

(so, the DSCC and the DCCC do not complain, so what is the problem)

And they could not find anybody closer than Kentucky to complain!!

At least they make the point for Meeham and Markey, who are not doing anything, and draw the comparison with Kerry. Of course, some idiots will be unhappy, but the article itself is not too bad.

The good news is that this allows Kerry to make clear to the public that this is an anonymous campaign.

Only falsehood : anger has bubbled on the liberal blogosphere : only kos has been pushing this. in fact, the liberal blogosphere has been amazingly calm.

2. I looked at the Hey John Site
Edited on Sat Oct-21-06 04:02 PM by benny05
and saw the piece in the Globe. Ridiculous that Hey John site got that much attention, considering it has no authority or way to know who it is. Is it a repuke or what? Kerry has worked very hard (as quite did some some other contenders for 2008, such as Clark, Warner (well, he's out, but he helped), etc to help many candidates this past year, not to mention that he votes the way most of us want him to cast his vote in the Senate.

IMO, Hillary needs to pony up some more, and some of the Dems who have practically light or no challengers for their seats that Chris Bowers mentioned on My DD need to help others. What do you think?
