1. Saw him on two channels
He looked great, as did Teresa. Big smiles and he looked wicked happy.

3. Yeah, I kind of got the feeling
this was the outcome he was hoping for. He looked really happy.

2. Impressive concessions from the other two.
I think that's how it's supposed to be done. Someone should show the video to Lieberman.

4. No kidding.
Class acts all the way, and Gabrieli even stood on the stage whil Patrick was making his speech. They said Tom Reilly wanted to be there, but couldn't make it in time.

I'm sooooo proud to be from MA tonight!!!!

5. wouldn't surprise me if Gabrieli and Reilly campaign for Patrick
They were both very gracious, and it's so nice to see this unity among the Dems! Then again, the primary campaign was pretty civil, too - aside from a few heated moments - so there was no need to harbor any deep resentments.
And also not surprising was Healy going negative on Patrick before he even gave his victory speech. :puke:

6. I think this is a good outcome
We have a Mr. Outside, Mr. Inside ticket. It's a very good match.

And, ahm, it's so exciting. I have lived in Massachusetts for almost all my life. I lived through the 'bad times' when things were not so good. It was so nice to have everyone in this race be seen for who they are, without side trips to what they look like. (OMG, I dreamed of this day. I knew it would come. The best candidate won because he was the best candidate and won in every county in the State. Oh Whome, I knew this day would come. I am so happy. It is a historic day in Massachusetts and I actully lived to see it. OMG, what a day. You know, things actually can change and for the better.)

8. It really is like a dream.
No bullshit campaigning. No attack ads (except for Barbi's). And such a resounding win. Tonight for the first time I really believe that the people of MA are fed up and ready to make a big change. For an outsider dem to win like this with a grassroots effort - wow. It's unheard of.

And if the people of MA are fed up - just maybe the rest of the country isn't so far behind??? I haven't been this (politically) happy since Kerry won Iowa.

9. And Chris Gabrieli was so gracious
in showing up at Deval Patricks victory party. That was a classy thing to do. (Ahm, a very classy thing to do. ) Tom Reilly's concession speech was also a class act. I wish them both well.

Happy Happy Joy Joy!

Remember last October on the Boston Common and the speaker was talking about the mid-70's and She Who Must Not Be Named? We've finally put those days away. Oh thank God for that.

10. I thought of that too.
Race was so not an issue in this race.

Until I swear I heard Barbie talking last night about how if Deval is elected governor drug dealers would take over our cities.

Unless I hallucinated that. Surely she couldn't have said anything so scurrilous????? Or race-baitish? Not Barbie. :sarcasm:

11. This could be a fun race
Barbie is alreadcy trying to run by saying that rich Deval Patrick doesn't understand what it's like to be poor or middle-class and to struggle to pay your bills. Ahm, that dog ain't gonna hunt. Besides, didn't her husband Sean, the Emporer of AMG, make like $6,000,000 a year in pay and bonuses? Ahm, gee, I wonder how long it's been since Barbie had to struggle to pay her bills.

Oh yeah, I forgot, Barbie and Sean believe that the State is there is help those who don't need it. That's why her husband's firms got that tax exemption from the State to build their tony corporate headquarters in economically deprived Prides Corner in Beverly. http://www.boston.com/news/local/articles/2004/01/25/ig_says_tax_breaks_granted_as_favors/

The single best thing about this race is that the Democrats emerged without beating the crap out of each other and have a realtively united front to go te next 7 weeks. It was really nice to see Sen. Kerry there last night. I want to see that luncheon next week generate some big bucks for the Gov's race. Healey still does have the advantage on that, but Mass Dems have raised millions in the past for candidates from other states, like Bill Clinton. I think it's time we raised money for our own candidate for Gov. We can do and we need all hands on deck.
