Flying Spaghetti Monster SAVE US!
Edited on Thu Nov-03-05 12:10 PM by BiggJawn
The ReTHUGlican Flat-Earthers of the World's WORST Legislature (Indiana General Assembly) are going to pass a law putting GAWD in our classrooms.

As if our kids don't have enough problmes being taught only wht they need to pass the annual ISTEP test....

http://www.indystar.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20051103/NEWS02/511030467

Indiana public schools would teach "intelligent design" along with evolution under legislation that some Republican lawmakers are developing for the 2006 legislative session.

<snip>

Rep. Bruce Borders, R-Jasonville, said he would file legislation mandating the teaching of intelligent design if no other lawmaker did. "It's a passionate issue for me, personally," Borders said.

The proposal comes a little more than a month after Bosma and a handful of other House members met privately with Carl Baugh, host of the Trinity Broadcasting Network show "Creationism in the 21st Century," to discuss bringing intelligent design to public schools.

Baugh was in town as the guest of Zion Unity Missionary Baptist Church, a small Indianapolis church whose pastor, the Rev. Fredrick W. Boyd Jr., is an acquaintance of Baugh's. Baugh is founder and director of the Creation Evidence Museum in Glen Rose, Texas.

If "Intelligent design" is NOT Creationism, and is NOT religion, then WHY did our Bubbas talk with a guy who has a Teeee-Veeee show on Paul Crouch's network ABOUT Creationism, runs a MUESEUM dedicated to it (are there displays of Fred Flintstone playing with Dino to "prove" that man and Dinosaur co-existed?) and was in town as a guest of a Church?

Hmmmm?

FSM save us! Just when I thought that a Hoosier lawmaker couldn't get any more STOOOOOPID!

But Carl ISN'T!

"Dr. Carl Baugh, the museum’s Founder and Director, originally came to Glen Rose, Texas to critically examine claims of human and dinosaur co-habitation. He conducted extensive excavations along the Paluxy River, with appropriate permission of the landowners. These original excavations yielded human footprints among dinosaur footprints..."

3. I hate to be superficial but "Dr." Baugh looks just like I imagined him
He doesn't know it, but HE could be the missing link!

Check out what his Kids Page tells us....

Dinosaurs were created on the sixth day of creation along with all the other land animals.

Did you know our great-great-many great-grandparents, Adam and Eve, were also created on that same day? Read Genesis Chapter 1 in your Bible. Dinosaurs lived in peace with the rest of creation, and they were even on the Noah’s Ark during the Great Flood.

There are many beliefs about how the dinos disappeared. One belief includes a huge asteroid hitting the Earth making the Earth cold and dark.

But people that believe in creation believe that this is not true. We find so many skeletons of dinosaurs today because most of the dinosaurs were killed, buried, and fossilized during the Great Flood, but two of every kind survived on the Ark.

When they got off the Ark, the world was a very different place. All the plants and tall trees that the dinosaurs ate were gone. Instead of lush forests, there were now great mountain ranges, deep canyons, and little vegetation. Dinosaurs did not have enough to eat!

Because so many volcanoes had erupted during the Flood, the sky was still filled with dust and ash which reflected warm sunlight back into space causing extreme temperatures on the Earth. Also, the earth had expanded making atmospheric pressure decrease. Before the flood, atmospheric pressure was greater and cells could carry more oxygen. Dinosaurs had very small lung capacities and after the flood, their cells couldn’t carry as much oxygen to there bodies. They were slowly suffocating! There are many reasons combined to explain why dinosaurs became extinct, but the main reason is the Flood and then the change in the Earth and its atmosphere.

(I'm having violent thoughts!)

4. If the Earth expanded enough to decrease atmospheric pressure
wouldn't it just come apart?

And a follow-up question...if these fuckers are so smart they can disprove scientific theories, howscome they can't write properly?

"...their cells couldn't carry as much oxygen to there bodies."

6. No no, god is holding it together with...um...faith. Yep, that's it.
It's just like gravity, but more powerful.

5. Guess "GAWD" didn't love the poor dinosaurs as much as Cockroaches.
"When they got off the Ark, the world was a very different place. All the plants and tall trees that the dinosaurs ate were gone. Instead of lush forests, there were now great mountain ranges, deep canyons, and little vegetation. Dinosaurs did not have enough to eat!"

And

"Dinosaurs had very small lung capacities and after the flood, their cells couldn’t carry as much oxygen to there bodies. They were slowly suffocating!"

"Omnipotent"? I think "IMpotent" is closer to the mark.

So why didn't GAWD make allowances in "His Glorious Plan" for food and air for the dinos?

"Also, the earth had expanded making atmospheric pressure decrease."

I would like to see the scientific theory to support THAT hypothesis...

7. So do you think this will make it through your legislature?
I used to be optimistic that things like this were just the ravings of a few kooks and would just fade away. But events from the last few years makes me less optimistic.

I also used to have a preconception that things like ID were more of a backwater-hick-town problem. Sadly, it seems to be in my backyard.

36 co-sponsors of the bill, 100 member chamber, that's what, only 15 more people they have to infect with their lunacy?

Remember, we're not talking Men of Science or even men and women of education here. This is the Indiana Legislature, and the Primary Qualification for the job is to be the largest farmer, car dealer, or grocery store owner in your district. Or be the wife of one of the 3 affore mentioneds. Oh, and being a ReTHUGlican, or barring that, a Fundy bible-believin' DLC Democrat would be nice, too.

They bring bullshit like THIS, the "Defense of Marriage Act" and that detestable bill that would have prevented Lesbians and single women (and hetero couples who don't attend church) from seeking reproductive assistance to the table then wonder WHY we have a "Brain Drain" in this state, why our young people are getting their degrees and leaving like the Plague was behind them and why the only new businesses they can get to locate here are new Walmarts...

Are they fucking CLUELESS or what?

I think Our Bitch Mitch should appoint me Chief Inquisitor, since I HAVE read the "Mallus Malificarum"... $150,000 a year should be enough of a salary....

11. Well if they ever have public hearings, make sure the FSM is represented.
I'd hate for His Noodleness to be left out of the discussion.

8. Arrr, Matey! Ya be foolin' with the appendage as t'were ye yardarm
which is Pastafarian for "handjob".

Does anyone have any idea what the lung capacity of dinosaurs was? I suspect since there aren't many lung fossils, that is open to speculation. But I'm going to guess an animal with a few tons of mass to move around would have lungs to match.

I guess global warming and cooling happened back then from crap in the air, but doesn't now. Maybe there has been another reduction in air pressure.

And all that happened in what, six weeks?

Jesus H. Christ on a stick, these people are stupid. When god was handing out brains, they thought he said "trains" and asked for a slow one.

13. Oy vey
Interesting how over thousands of years there is no mention of dinosaurs in Judeo-Christian history. Suddenly with the advent of "Intelligent Design" we have Adam, Eve and the dinosaurs romping in the Garden of Eden together. What unadulterated Code Brown.
