1. Woo hoo!
I picked up my copy at Borders at lunchtime (I had a gift card or I would have gone elsewhere.) When I walked in, I expected to see a big display in front of the store, but nada. They had a display of current political books when you first walked in, but it wasn't on that display. I had to ask someone where it was, and she walked way over to the side of the store to find one for me. I think there was a table near the political section, but it certainly wasn't very prominent.

2. Bought mine at Costco today
Stacked between "the Reagan diaries" :puke: and Tenet's book :eyes:
Perhaps we should start a discussion group here?

5. Yes, yes!
I just posted a thread asking if anyone wanted to discuss here. I'd love to. It is a great book. For fun, read a chapter and then listen to Melissa belt out "I need to wake up" (http://youtube.com/watch?v=djP-c7d_Oeo). Her words work with TAOR as well as they do with the message in AIT.

6. The weather forecast sucks for the weekend
If it rains as much as they say it will (I'm actually hoping it will), I plan to read as much as I can over the weekend.

7. Me too
We're headed to evlbstrd's tonight for his birthday party. I'm taking "V for Vendetta" with me.
Tomorrow I've got some work to do (we're reorganizing our home office). As soon as I can I'm picking the book and readng as much as I can.

12. I gave him a big hug last night
I'll tell him that part of it was from you. We watched "V for Vendetta" last night and he loved it as much as I did. I told him the movie was a good thing to watch before reading Gore's book. He's fired up.

But in truth, evl's been pretty busy ever since he died. He just got word that his funeral is June 3 (see http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_mesg&forum=153&topic_id=7715&mesg_id=7715) which shouldn't have been as surprising to him as it was since he was notified he was dead back in March (see http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_mesg&forum=153&topic_id=8163&mesg_id=8163). It's hard to keep a good man down. He's also been busy comforting evljr and evlspwn and reassuring them that he is still alive by spending time with them. Plus, he's got to contact all the people who are sending his family sympathy cards to let them know he is still alive.

We (evl, proud, Admiral Loinpresser and I) have also been planning our trip to D.C. We're going to the Take Back America conference (http://tba2007.confabb.com/conferences/tba2007/details) from June 18-20. We're reserving a table for the Draft Gore movement at the conference again this year. Last year we got quite a response to the possibility of a Gore candidacy and I'm pretty sure more people will take us seriously this year.

13. LOL
I hadn't seen any of that. Send his family my condolences.

I wish I could go to the Take Back America conference. Be sure to let all of the Gore folks know how it goes. I assume Karen is aware of it, right? I'm sure you'll have an amazing response.

Are you guys going to be at YearlyKos?

I plan to read all afternoon (Of course, the sun just came out after raining all morning!)

14. We're just looking forward to the multiple wakes
Last night proud2Blib showed up with black balloons, a sympathy/Happy Birthday card, a red, white & blue candle/citronella candle, a 12 pack of Guinness and some other stuff. It was hilarious.

Yes, Karen is aware of it. She's always in the loop. I talk to her several times a week. LOL, last night the Admiral was on a conference call with Karen from evl's house (using proud's cell phone). I swear, these people are like family to me.

We're talking about going to YearlyKos. Chicago is a lot closer to us than D.C. There's a YearlyKos pre-party at the TBA conference. It's the night before the conference begins and, as far as I know, proud told us we're going.

We were also talking about the Annual Gore Family Dinner. We're on the Davidson County Dems mailing list. We'd like to try to go this year too. I'm not sure if any of the Gores will be present though.

I've just finished returning phone calls. I'm going to tackle e-mail tomorrow. I've been having trouble with it for about a month now. The problem is connectivity. We live a mixed neighborhood. There are families and students. Many of the students are moving in/out and our cable/ISP company keeps knocking us off line. It's a yearly happening.

I'm off to take the dogs on a small hike and then I'm going to curl up with Al.

15. Sounds like fun.
I wish some of my DU friends lived close enough to spend time with on a regular basis. A bunch of us from the KOEB will be in Chicago next weekend. Bunny Planet has a gallery show opening there, so we're meeting up. I can't wait! It will be the first time any of us have met RevCheeseHead in person.

Hope to see you all at YKos in August. It would be great to meet you in person, Mabus.

"Curl up with Al" sounds pretty good. I'm about halfway through the book and am going to try to read a little more tonight. I kept reading and then sleeping this afternoon -- my latest nap was two and a half hours until my daughter woke me up about an hour ago. I would have loved to just sleep through the night at that point.

10. If it wasn't 2:15 in the morning I'd be on my way to the bookstore now to
get this book. He's ALWAYS been the guy for me. I can only hope, pray, and visualiize that he'll be the President.
