OK, now for some wilder speculation...
...complete fantasy, probably, but I can't help myself:

So now that the anti-corporate Edwards is out, Ralph Nader is considering jumping in (http://www.naderexplore08.org). What if Ralph is planning to use his potential candidacy as a bargaining chip? Like he'll back off if the Democratic ticket ends up being Gore / Edwards...

(Thanks to lildreamer316 for letting me piggyback off her theory!)

I'm totally crazed, I know, but I'm not ready to remove my "Re-Elect Gore 2008" and "A Climate Change in Washington - Gore 2008" bumper stickers.

If Nader jumps in, that IS a fantasy that he would back off for anyone. A more selfish, self-centered, self-absorbed cretin doesn't exist.

Assessment of Nader! No single person outside Bushco is more responsible for the horrors of the last 8 years - and he knew full well what he was doing.
