You’d better watch out.
The gears begin grinding this week toward the 2008 Force Shaping Board, aimed at ousting lieutenants commissioned in 2005.
The board will decide which lieutenants in overmanned career fields are told to leave the service by the end of August.
This week, the Air Force will tell senior raters to begin filling out retention recommendation forms for the junior officers in such vulnerable career fields as communications and developmental engineering.
The raters have until Feb. 4 to turn in their recommendations to the Air Force Personnel Center. The Force Shaping Board is set to gather March 31 to decide which lieutenants must go.
As of Nov. 16, the service needed to cut more than 100 lieutenants, but it is not known how many lieutenants will get walking papers.
