Finding retired USAF officer
My boss asked me to help him track down a former colleage. I've come to a dead end unless I pay one of the internet spy companies to get what is probably outdated records. Is military.com or any other commercial site a viable option. The person I'm looking for is in his mid 70s if that has any bearing.

1. mid-70s and still alive?
a private investigator can easily find him through various public databases (so can you, but sometimes it's cheaper to hire a pro) you have name, rank and unit? piece of cake.

2. name and last known rank
My boss probably knows the unit.
The person I'm looking for is a Jr and his father had a very distinguished career in the Service also. I keep coming across his fathers info.
I guess I'll have to pay to find him or have my boss go through VA and wait forever.

in the CBPO (Consolidated Base Personnel Office). We had microfiche of all retired/active duty folk. I used to get letters from people looking for old friends - I didn't have to do it, but I would forward the letter to the person myself - that way I gave away no information but gave the other person the option to respond. I remember one time I wrote this guy (name, address, phone number) claims he was at your wedding and would love to hear from you. :D
