A crisis, but not end of world
A crisis, but not end of world
By Robert F. Dorr

Beyond doubt, the Air Force of 2008 faces challenges. But are we on the verge of disaster?

Like Chicken Little in the children’s fable, our leaders seem be proclaiming the sky is falling.

The need to replace aging aircraft is indeed serious.

Potential enemies lurk, but are they more dangerous than the foes we’ve faced before?

“The future strategic global environment will be more complex, dynamic and lethal than it has been in the past,” reads an Air Force Print News story about a recent conference on the service’s future.

uhc comment: In this article, Dorr is pushing for the F-15K which costs only $165,000,000 as opposed to the $330,000,000 cost of an F-22 Raptor.
