In Memory of Harry McGilberry of THE TEMPTATIONS
January 19, 1950 - April 3, 2006

Richard Street left The Temptations in 1992 after a twenty-year association with the group, with Theo Peoples taking his place. Two years later, Melvin Franklin was forced to leave the group because of failing health; he died on February 23, 1995 at the age of 52 after suffering a brain seizure. Ray Davis from Parliament/Funkadelic assumed the bass role for the 1995 pop standards album For Lovers Only, and Harry McGilberry became the permanent bass.

Was his death do to ill health?

Several web sites stated that he was ill for a prolonged period of time. Another site, very reputable, stated he died from a drug over dose.

I love The Temptations and I have followed them (and their personnel changes) since I was 12. They are truly legends.
