I am absolutely giddy to pick up MLB 10: The Show tonight
it's becoming a real distraction at work today as I sit in anticipation of picking it up. I already have it reserved and paid for, I just need to run by a GameStop to pick it up.

I had MLB 09: The Show for PS2 and hated the RTTS because you couldn't practice and so became stuck in AA hell season after season. Now I have a PS3 where you actually CAN work in the batting cage and improve your skills. I was blown away by the graphics of the PS3 version of The Show 2009, and I'm hearing the 2010 version is even better!

Anyone else planing on buying it?

1. I hear you.
I picked it up this morning, but only had time to burn through one exhibition game before work.

It looked tremendous. The gameplay felt very similar. Because I was rushing through I didn't really see much of the new animations.

On the negative side, the commentary seemed unchanged from last year. Maybe even worse as there were a couple of accuracy glitches where the commentary screwed up on number of outs and other wrong information about who was batting etc... I'll probably do what I always do and just turn off the commentary.

And I didn't have time to look into it but apparently the game shipped with some pretty glaring Franchise bugs as well. Including a bug on players Potential rating that was causing superstar players to be placed on waivers and other wacky logic.

Looks like SCEA has already identified most of the problems and has promised a speedy update, but all in all a pretty damn rocky launch for such a highly regarded game.

2. I picked it up after work
I haven't played any exhibition games yet, but I have gotten into the Road to the Show. Graphics are great, i loved watching fans bouncing a beachball around the stands. But I did notice at one point about 8 fans doing the exact same moves at once, but i can let that go. Already there's a HUGE improvement over the PS2 2009 Show, I think it'll be a lot easier to actually move up to the show now instead of stuck in Minors hell.

I heard about the potential rating screwup, so I may wait to start a franchise until they fix that bug.

3. I didn't play RTTS much last year
Found it to be a bit of a grind.

Plus, I'm more of a manage only guy. In my franchise, I'll play every tenth game or so, but mostly I'm doing manage only mode.

Now that you can play a catcher and actually call the games in RTTS I'll probably give it a shot.

4. Well after playing it till after midnight last night, I really enjoy their RTTS
You start off in AA, as opposed to spring training in The show 2009. I love havig the batting cage to warm up and the ability to earn training points in practice. Whereas in 2009, I never got close to sniffing the majors, I've already spent a few weeks on the Rays, was traded to the Indians and when I turned it off last night, I had just gotten called up again.

I really do want to do set up a Franchise, but am waiting for their Monday update when they fix the player's potential bug.
