for us, the oldschool
video games today i see are becoming generic on a massive level, sonic is appearing on the nintendo and anybody with a 3-d program are churning out instant games by the hour, Well, Fuck that! i admit you occasionally see an interesting good game, but the game is doomed to obscurity, Mischief Makers, Monkey Island 4, Mister Mosquito, all original, inventive, fujnny, fun games with tons of replay value, but most of the rest i could do better animating with a crayon </rant>

1. Makes ya want to go outside and play cops-n-robbers, eh?
I think Diablo II was the last game I really liked. Still play it once in a while.

2. I agree

The quality of gameplay has really sunk while the polygon count sky rocketed. We can only hope the next gen offers some revolutionary online play because single player campaigns I think are really headed for extinction.

4. Online will never be free.
Let's just get that thought out of our heads. XBL only costs 50 a year I think, and you may have to pay a little extra to play on certain company servers. Other than that I think it's worth it. Pretty soon consoles are going to get into MMORPGs and then it'll really boom.

5. Starcraft & Warcraft III were free - both great games

Maybe the MMORPHS will follow, but I doubt it.

I'm not gonna pay for a game that has a monthly fee, because I don't have enough time to invest in it.

14. Online games have always been free.
Psst...they're called MUDs and they've been around for years. :hi:

Sure you don't get fancy graphics and shit, but they're addictive and more importantly, fun as hell.

6. Having played when games were $6 an HOUR...
$10 a month SEEMS like it's free to me.

However, I don't know of any games I'm currently willing to pay any monthly fee to play online right now. Maybe I'm just in a phase?

8. You're wrong
XBL is awesome. Just because there aren't any Square/Enix games for it doesn't mean it sucks.

12. OK
I'm with you on the MMOROPGSSPOS, but XBL is great. They've set the bar for online console play.

16. I guess we just don't see eye-to-eye . . .
. . . on the types of games we like.

At less than $4.25/month, I think XBL is a steal.
