5 Complaints About Modern Life That are Statistically BS
http://www.cracked.com/article_18983_5-complaints-about-modern-life-that-are-statistically-b.s..html

Figured this was the best place to post this, as GD wouldn't respond well to sanity.

Not sure which is my favourite. It's either #3 (modern food is teh evul) or #1 (modern music sucks).

1. #1 is subjective
The others are good, though.

3. #1 bugs the SHIT outta me!
I am sick of Boomers and Gen-Xers putting down my Generation's music. As if Motown wasn't mostly pop crap! :eyes:

7. Just have to go further back
When it comes to music I'm a 70s fan..

..the 1870's that is. Well technically about 1810-1890s or so, from the proto-Romantics to the idiotic dabbling in atonalism

5. When my son was taking h.s. chemistry,
his chemistry teacher said he was teaching stuff to the kids that he didn't get until he was in upper level college courses. Both of my sons took a bunch of AP classes, and AP classes weren't even offered when I was in h.s. in the early 60's.

Adults have pretty much always hated the music of the younger generation. Big deal.

It does seem to take a lot more cash to live an average life today, compared to a while back. But then cell phones and computers and ipods and all sorts of things simply weren't around then. Cars are, for the most part, vastly more reliable than ever. Into the 1960's the reason those who could afford it would trade in for a new car every two or three years was that a lot of cars simply didn't last well much longer than that. Plus, they're a lot safer in crashes than they used to be.

The other complaint that I expect is statistically BS is the one about how young people are lazy and don't want to work at a job. I can recall quite clearly when that exact complaint was made about us Baby Boomers as we were first entering the work force.
