I want to incorporate my geekness to gardening
Is there any free gardening software for planning the plot?

:hi:

1. I looked around and didn't find any
I just used a ruler and paper

grid paper would make it easier, and you can download grids from the web

2. I copied a picture of our house

from google earth, then used photo-shop to make a lighter picture and grid. Now if they would update the satellite image things would be easier. I also took photos at different times of the day so I know where the sun is and isn't.

From Google. We have an odd shaped yard so needed a way to see it and this works best.

Just the veggie garden grids. I have them printed on separate pages for the non computer literate SO so he can write in what is where. I add it to my file so I can read it. Each square is 1 foot.

4. Now if I could find a pilot
with a small plane or hitch a ride on one of the helicopters that fly over a few dozen times a day and take my own yard photo that would work even better. lol I need a summer trees in full leaf photo. Hard to tell that the whole back of the house is shaded by a huge maple, can't even see my two aspens in this or the ash tree. The satellite must of gone past in the early spring since hardly any of the leafy trees show up. But it does work for an idea. I am either way to geeky or lazy, depends who you ask.:)

6. Your garden is so pretty.
I showed it to my SO, now if he can do it as neatly. We won't have a fence though. The yard is fenced now and the deer, cats and other critters go around to avoid the dogs.

7. Thank you but...
That was when the garden was very young that year and before the acorn squash took over, the tomatoes grew up and up and over and down their trellises. Good luck on your gardens. :hi:
