Sourcing California Native and other drought-tolerant plants
The California Native Plant Society is a terrific resource. Many local chapters have plant sales.

Does anyone else have other sources for xeric plants?

1. I live in NE Oklahoma
To conserve water, I have gone to heat and drought resistant flowers in my garden. I also have to be very careful about deer resistant also. Bambi and his mother were in my back yard this week.

3. In Southern Cal
Rancho Santa Ana Botanic Garden has now opened a nursery to the public. Their website is www.rsabg.org Plus their big Fall plant sale is to die for if you're into natives.

Often the local parks will have native plant sales in the fall. Eg. El Dorado Nature Center in El Dorado Regional Park in Long Beach had a sale at the end of Oct. Also Madrona Marsh Preserve in Torrance at the beginning of Nov. Fullerton Arboretum had one I think in Oct. Of course these are not year round sources, but if people are interested, they might check some of their local parks/preserves/arboretums or nurseries.

I've done my whole (small)front yard over in natives and wish I had room to do more. (The dogs get the back yard.) My daughter lives in San Luis Obispo on 5 acres and I told her I have my eye on her place when I retire. I am a native fanatic!!!
