http://lightworker.com/beacons/2008/2008_11-Fear.phpThe next New Moon forms on Thursday, November 27 at 8:54 AM PST at 6º Sagittarius. This new moon pushes us to deeply examine our lives and assumptions. It reminds us that what we see depends on where we stand, and that the frontiers of creation are always expanding. Sagittarius is symbolized by the Archer pointing toward the heavens. What are we aiming for? What do we believe? What is our truth?
New Moons are ordinarily times for quiet reflection and contemplation, but there is nothing ordinary, nor quiet about this one. Whenever a planet ends its retrograde phase, it’s like a red light turning green. Uranus (a.k.a. the Awakener, the Liberator, the God of Chaos) ends its five-month retrograde period less than an hour before the formation of this new moon. (Uranus stationed retrograde on June 26 at 22°39’ Pisces; it stations direct at 18°44’ Pisces and again reaches 22°39’ Pisces on March 13, 2009.) Turning direct, Uranus signals that it’s time for a quantum leap. Uranus rules Aquarius, the sign of diversity and democracy, revolution and reform. It is associated with computers and electricity, as well as the nervous system and neurological brain function, so we’re likely to feel buzzy and brainy when this planet switches direction. Uranian energy is like uranium — explosive and potentially destructive, but also highly creative when channeled appropriately. Uranus demands real progress, not cosmetic changes. Where it stations in your chart is where you are being called to heed your intuition and break free from old patterns.
And prepare for warp drive: From November 27 to December 31, 2008, for the first and only time this year, no planets are retrograde. This is breakthrough or breakdown time. Much could manifest quickly during the next few weeks, if we can think out of the box — or get rid of the box entirely. Cosmic Simon says: Change or be changed. If we are willing to let go, we don’t need earthquakes to get us to move.
The day before this New Moon, Pluto re-enters Capricorn, where it remains until 2023. Pluto in Capricorn challenges “business as usual” to evolve beyond a sole concern with personal or monetary gain, to create structures which are sustainable and equitable. Capricorn, as the tenth sign in an archetypal cycle of development, symbolizes the need to become aware of and fully accountable for the consequences of our actions. Pluto takes no prisoners, allows no whining, no excuses, no victim mentality; it ruthlessly flushes out where we still abdicate our power and responsibility. The mythic Lord of the Underworld shines a bright light into the shadows, forcing us to look at what we have been unable or unwilling to see. Like Uranus, Pluto requires us to make a paradigm shift, changing not only how we do things, but also how we perceive the world and our place in it. We are moving away from separation and domination and toward unity and co-creation. We’re rewriting the archetypes and rules of reality itself, as humanity advances on the road to radical responsibility.
