Energy and prayers please
My beloved stepmother has, since November, lost her husband of 35 years (my Dad) her 19 year old dog and last night, her 92 year old mother.

3 losses in 5 months are a burden for anyone, so please send a ray of love to Betty in Shreveport to give her strength and hope

Thanks

I'm sorry to hear you all are facing so many losses in such a short time. That is a heavy load for any heart to have to bear.

Brightest blessings to you all. May your burdens lighten and your paths brighten soon.

7. I too have been through a period of multiple, successive losses.

It took several years to really move through all the feelings...old issues, grief, forgiveness, recovery, etc.
Blessings and healing energy for Betty. It sounds like you two are close. I'm sure that's a blessing for both of you.

It's interesting to me how much a part animals have played in marking important periods of transition in my life....whether through their coming or leaving. This past year has been the most extreme with MANY new pets showing up, one leaving, and one fighting for her life against an agressive cancer which she is surprisingly holding at bay. A very important year on so many levels!

8. Yes Dover, so true what you said about animals playing an
important role.

Several years ago, my mothers 18-year-old dog died. I was very concerned for Mom, as she was getting older and lived alone. She had always had dogs over the years.

Anyway, the day after the dog (Nicky) died I had a dream that I was standing in my mother's kitchen and there was Nicky up on the kitchen counter! So, I gently nudged him to get down and, my arm went right thru his body as if he were a ghost. Then, I turned and looked, and all around the room were the 'spirits' of my mother's dogs. All the dogs she had had over the years were all there, like sphinxes, watching over Mom! It gave me great comfort!

10. Yeah, and she felt comforted by it.
What was neat about the dream was that all of the dogs were very still and seemed to be sort of at their posts, watching over things.

It's very nice to think that we go on with our creatures once we've left this plane!

14. Will keep Betty in Shreveport in my prayers....
Those times of multiple losses are, unfortunately, some of the most unforgettable times of life. The stress and shock overlap, like waves breaking on the shore; one hasn't completely passed before the next comes rolling in. It's so hard to comprehend why people have to face times like that in this life.

I wish for Betty that she will wrap herself up in the LOVE that has lived inside of HER, for those who she has loved and lost. When someone loses people that are as close to her as her husband, her mom and her 4-legged companion of 19 years, she has to understand that the love she gave AND received is still inside of her, and can help to make her strong.

And I hope she understands how fortunate she is to have you still around, AzDem. Not all stepkids care this way about their stepmoms. It is really kind of you to ask for prayers and support for her.

15. That's a lot --
If she's at all open to the suggestion, Bach or Healing Herb's flower essence called Star of Bethlemen is absolutely outstanding for grief.

When my cat of 20 years died a few years ago, I made up a dosage bottle and took a swig (a few drops is the actucal dosage) every time a wave of grief washed over me. It didn't get RID of the grief, but it made it pass much more quickly, more smoothly, lightly, and quickly. I was through it in a couple of days -- which isn't going to be the case for your stepmother, but it can still help lots.

In the meantime, prayers and blessings for all.
