Manifestation group check-in--February...!
Edited on Thu Feb-01-07 02:26 AM by bliss_eternal
Welcome!

How's everyone doing with their manifestation process? Are you reaching your goals? Or perhaps you're realizing that desires you thought you wanted you really don't--and instead are reaching for new goals? This too is part of the process?

A few summarized ideas from The Secret:

The Great Secret to life is the Law of Attraction.

The Law of Attraction says that like attracts like, so you think a thought, you are also attrating like thoughts to you.

Thoughts are magnetic, and thoughts have frequency. As you think thoughts, they are sent out into the Universe, and they magnetically attract all the things that are on the same frequency. Everything sent out returns to the source--you. :)

This month--let's be clear on our intentions, and do something tangible to express that intention.

For example:

Write down what you want in as much detail as possible.

Create a collage or a visioning board (also known as "dream boards", "visioning boards", "manifestation boards") of what you desire.

****link to information I just added to manifestation resource thread about visioning boards:

http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=245x36013#36294

Suggestions for other ways to express intent? ;)

Looking forward to many positive check-in's this month! :hi:

1. Hi, Bliss **
I'm not sure if I should post here or on the Resource thread.

This site is not directly LOA, though she does mention 'The Secret' in her newsletter.
If you sign up for the newsletter, you can download a 35 page pdf book.
http://www.eftupdate.com/

If you don't want the newsletter, you can still read the current issue and archives from the main page.

I really like her twist on affirmations. They are linked with EFT in this instance. But there is no reason they can't be used w/o EFT.
One technique is, choices. State the affirmation as, 'Even though these bills scare me, I choose to be financially responsible.' Her thinking is that just stating an affirmation that some part of ourselves knows is not true simply negates the affirmation. This seems accurate in my experience.

In the current issue, she writes about using EFT to capture audio and visual fleeting positive feelings, so they can be recalled later under times of stress.

I highly recommend reading some of her material. Let me know what you think of the energy of her suggested style of affirming?

4. Keep the manifestation stuff coming, ok?
The Democratic Party is now manifesting its Presidential win in 2008, and all of us seem to know that our personal challenge also involves manifestation, too. Each one of us is the microcosm, and the Democratic Party is the macrocosm. In a way, I feel that as each one of us becomes better at manifestation, we help our party, too. Individually and as a group, we are growing positive power, and I love it!

5. I am working on manifesting customers for my new business enterprise.
I have been leaving my catalogs in doctor's office waiting rooms, handing out my business cards, and hanging posters on local community bulletin boards.

I am responsible for the effort put forth, and the universe is in the process of rewarding my efforts.

8. I'm trying it, and I really do feel it's working.
I am very new to this, and the resources thread (along with this one) have been a big help to me.

At first I was overwhelmed and a bit worried about getting my hopes set on something only to be disappointed. Reading everyones suggestions and responses has helped me gain some perspective on this. I've learned to start small. I've also taken your suggestion and put what I want in writing.

Small changes started happening over the weekend, and I can't wait to see what the next week brings.

9. I finally had one to share
Edited on Mon Feb-05-07 03:06 PM by Proud_Lefty
Over the past three months, I've been manifesting for more income to work with, so I'm not so stressed out all the time over getting my needs covered. I decided to get a new job after the holidays. On the first Sunday of January, I opened the newspaper knowing that there would be something in there for me, and there it was. I prepared my resume, emailed it in that day and was called a few days later for an interview.

My clothes have been in terrible shape since I've gain a little weight, very few of my clothes even fit. Over the past 8 years, whenever I go shopping to replenish my wardrobe, I get absolutely demoralized because nothing looks good on me and I have to stare at all those mirrors in the dressing rooms. But I needed an outfit for my job interview that looked sharp. In addition to manifesting for clothes, I also asked my masters if they were in the mood to join me shopping and make a normal horrible experience a good one. Well, I immediately found all kinds of clothes that hide everything and really looked good on me. I've bought so many beautiful things, ALL ON SALE.

I remained positive that this job was for me and I was going to do everything I could to make it happen. I starting painting my nails again, bleached my teeth and made sure everything under and in addition to my new outfits were new, comfortable and professional looking. I can't tell you how many compliments I've gotten and I GOT THE JOB, the only one I thought worthwhile enough to send my resume out to. It's a huge jump in salary from my current job with less stress and responsibilities. I'm absolutely blown away. It really does work.

Thanks for letting me share.

81. Well, I found a wonderful necklace and earrings to wear (pic)

No clothing, though. However, all is not lost. I have a really nice pair of black pants (my daughter had suggested black pants, if I can't find a dress -- I don't do skirts), and a lovely olive green jacket that looks great with the necklace. So what I think I will end up doing is finding a shell top in a complimentary shade of green, and wear that.

.... odd and random things have been manifesting for me of late.

Today something not so odd, nor so random - but instead something I had almost given up hope on. I was just about to email my headhunter and ask for her feedback on what may have been 'wrong' on my resume that the last company she sent me to didn't follow up ... but before I could email her, she contacted me to tell me that

I HAVE A SECOND INTERVIEW TOMORROW MORNING!!!

I'm the type of person that, it will just hit me upside the head when it needs to ... otherwise I don't have much luck consciously joining groups and making stuff happen.

Mucho boucoup importante interview with them on Monday - I'm seeing 5 people in 3 hours.

alot further than other candidates have gotten over the past several months. Cross fingers.

21. Did you write it down yet?
Someone shared at LOA group tonight that she had manifested exactly the person she had described.
I was able to find my ex-dh very shortly after I got clear on what traits and characteristics I wanted. Then I went through a phase of 'giving up men' (seriously). That didn't last very long, because I met the perfect guy!

For some time, I've known only that I did not want to be in a 'relationship'. A couple of years ago, right after I moved, even after telling myself on the drive down, that I was NOT INTERESTED; that I had work to do; I fell into something. It was painful. It was angst. But it sure did sharpen my perspective on what to look for and what to avoid in the future.
That's pretty important information.

25. Oh believe me, I'm very specific in that department.
I was once involved with a man (I call him my Grand Obsession) with whom the first year was absolute joy, and the second was total pain and angst. That relationship wounded my soul deeply, but like you, it served to sharpen my perspective, particularly where it comes to what's acceptable and what isn't.

34. You are working on loving yourself, right?
Hopefully you are already there.

I found my soulmate when I learned to love myself, love my life and be grateful for all that I had.

I had a list, and affirmed every night that "I now have a man who is sweet, kind, creative, etc..." and lo and behold he came to me.

Funny thing is, he was already a friend. And he had thought of me as one of the man-haters. Once I changed my outlook, he saw the real me. That was over 6 years ago. :loveya:

I have faith in you!!!

26. I manifested lunch
I'm so proud. :) I wanted tomato florentine soup for lunch last Friday--even though the cafeteria only sells it on Thursday--and "poof" tomato florentine soup on Friday. It's a small thing, but it made me happy.

Can you manifest a guide? I was feeling a little lost and I always call on the same angel for help. I figured she might be tired of helping me get through the same old never-ending nonsense, so I asked for a new guide to give me a sign that if I'm patient and calm, all will work out for the best. I had a reading on Saturday and she told me my "son" is watching over me and he's making sure that I have the money to do the things I need to do (which is actually something I need to have happen right now and I was just thinking how odd it is that I keep spending money for what I need, but I'm not running out of funds). BTW: I put son in quotes because that's what she called him, but I don't have a son. I did lose a pregnancy years ago, so perhaps it is that energy she felt (at least, I hope so because I'm too dang old to reproduce again!)

Edited on Wed Feb-07-07 05:06 PM by AZDemDist6
I said in the first manifestation thread I needed to find a rototiller for the garden.

it then snowed and was icy icy cold for a month

the weather warmed up yesterday, I got some work down outside and today I met a guy in AA who has a tiller and is happy to come by and till the garden (I promised him and his GF a BBQ dinner for his trouble)

so there ya go, ask and ye shall recieve, right on time just when you need it

:bounce:

edit to add he also gave the a guy's name who has clean dirt for my planter/tub at a MUCH cheaper cost then what i'd pay to buy 10-15 bags of soil at the home center to fill my 5' round and 3' deep planter tub. it's gonna make an awesome herb and lettuce garden

at the end of our talk he handed my his card "ABC Lawn & Tree Care" which brought up the tiller question

but the info I brought him was important to his sobriety, so the tiller was just a bonus hehehe

I'm also fortunate enough to have a great group of local people who use LOA. Some of them have been following Abraham Hicks/LOA for several years and have really manifested. Very exciting!

The main purpose of this job is to keep my head above water while I pursue my longer term intentions. And it's always nice to play with flowers.

Thanks!

44. I'm manifesting weight loss - lost 12.8 lbs in 6 weeks
had a major revelation at the Weight Watchers meeting today. I'm still fearing that there are certains foods I will never be able to eat again, due to not having any control over them.

Duh! I CAN control what I eat. I can eat what I want and still lose weight.

I AM THIN AND BEAUTIFUL!!!

62. I really like Weight Watchers
We have a good group and a really good leader.

A couple of weeks ago she talked about a leader's meeting where they discussed how it is so "food -oriented" and I kind of chuckled, and she said "well, we all are. That's why we're here. We are among friends." I just really liked that. It's like, yes we are and we just have to learn to deal with it.

Yesterday's meeting was especially supportive and positive. We talked about chocolate (Valentine's day coming up and all...) and how we CAN have it and still lose weight.

You look great by the way! :-)

else, because I've never posted a picture on DU. However, there are so many talented people in this group, that I wouldn't put it past someone here to be able to even get a picture of someone through their psychic abilities. Is that the case for you?

My Weight Watchers group also talked about chocolate. I like my leader also. We have a group that meets at lunch where I work. I hope that we can get enough people to continue after this first 12 week session, which ends in a few weeks. :(

(By the way, I really enjoyed your music on your MySpace page! :))

using the standard 5 senses. ;)

Thank you for the encouragement in reference to my weight. I lose weight very slowly, so I've lost about 5.5 lbs. so far. My goal is to lose another 10 pounds.

Do you remember the discussion of weight loss on Oprah where The Secret was discussed? Several times, I tried doing exactly what they said. I affirmed what I wanted, I visualized, etc. but it didn't work for me. I'm trying to do the same things now while in the Weight Watchers program. I want my focus to be correct.

By the way, I borrowed your affirmation and made a slight change. Instead of "I AM THIN AND BEAUTIFUL!", I'm saying "I AM EFFORTLESSLY HEALTHY, THIN AND BEAUTIFUL!". (I want to remain healthy while losing weight and want the weight to come off for reasons other than being sick.) Thanks for the idea, Beaverhausen!

47. Well, I'm checking in about manifestation.
The last few days I've been thinking about all of it quite a bit, and I discovered that I have gradually lost the ability to just "be still". So maybe I've been violating the procedure that one of the panel mentioned on Oprah. The person said to ask only once, then feel it, and then act.

Being still helps everything, I think, including manifestation.

Anyway, I'm working on stilling my inner chatter, because it seems to get in the way of manifestation.

53. You know, R_G, I was thinking about "asking once" when I saw
the Oprah show today, and it seems to be contradictory to doing affirmations, meditations, etc.

I don't know; maybe they just meant you shouldn't walk around all day, asking and asking and asking, until you get in a desperate state (which happens to me if I'm not careful).

Any thoughts on this?

We do seem to have a paradox here. I will say that I've never really liked affirmations all that much, but I'm not sure why.

Yeah, I've been guilty of the asking and asking thing, more than once.

Hmmm. Let's think about that one.

I was wondering the same thing. Maybe the difference is with an affirmation, you're stating an intent ("I am a money magnet") versus stating a specific desire ("I will make $75,000 in 2007)?

I look forward to other poster's thoughts.

63. A thought
Remember how they talk about feeling the "feeling" of having what it is you want. Maybe that is what she meant when she said "ask once." You ask, then you affirm that you are "grateful to have" such and such.

I found it a bit strange, too. I don't ask for things once, but I don't really tend to "ask" - I "affirm" that I already have something. (the Louise Hay influence showing)

When I do affirmations, I always do them in the present tense AND increase my positive feelings about what I am affirming.

93. Affirming isn't asking.
Asking is like a prayer saying...God please make me thin. Affirming is stating what already is. "I am thin" is not asking.

All of our negative thoughts took years to form. Affirming is just a way of reprogramming our thoughts.

59. After watching the Oprah show I feel renewed in my efforts.
The message that resonated with me from the show was to wipe away all negative thoughts. Seems like we are just so harsh on ourselves, it's difficult to get rid of the "I'm not good enoughs", or those clouds of doubt that we have learned to believe and hold onto.

I think that's the hardest thing, just letting it all go. We have to remember that when we can't forgive ourselves or others, we need to just take the "learning" and be greatful for that. When we do, it releases us and let's us grow the positive.

It seems there are some things that are just a natural and easy to manifest, at least in my experience. I've always been quite fortunate with my family and home, but that's because I'm always, always, always greatful & I celebrate those each day. I mean I don't think there's ever been a day since my children were born that I wasn't greatful for them and all they've brought into my life, not ever. The tougher ones for me are the job and other issues. THOSE are the things I need to learn to let go of the negativity, or holding on to "but I can't" thoughts.

So the problem areas are the ones to re-focus on & pull out the negatives & be VERY careful, because those negatives can be sneaky, lol!

85. Okay, I watched The Secret on Oprah
I purchased the book on Tuesday of this week and finished it Wednesday and I have to say, I am less stressed that I have been in a long time (I've been going through a divorce since Aug of 2005).

I manifested the perfect parking spot yesterday. Twice a week, I have to park in a lot that is twisty and confusing and I used to never find a decent spot. Yesterday, I visualized the exact spot I wanted and when I got there, it was taken (insert split-second of disappointment) and then, poof! the car pulled out and I got the spot. (You've never seen anyone as excited about a parking spot before). :)

I got a check in the mail yesterday that came much earlier than I expected. I also got a freelance job that I didn't expect (which equals more money). And I didn't get any Valentine gifts from my soon-to-be-ex (which is what I wanted and out of character for him).

My mother watched Oprah with me (and I loaned her my book yesterday) and I think she's really manifesting some major change! She's had great difficulty with her business (the "there-is-no-way-out-of-this type of difficulty), but since watching Oprah, she and I have worked together to change her thoughts. She had a setback on Monday, but didn't let it get her down and then yesterday, everything started falling into place. The "wow-all-my-troubles-might-be-over" type of change. :)

91. Just thought I would post about a small manifestation
I bought a package of safety pins for sewing, and once I opened the package, they were all loose. So I put them in a ziplock until I could go and buy a suitable box to keep them in. Lo and behold, I found in one of the closets and old sucrets sized box (was not a sucrets box, in fact, Star Wars was printed on it) which works perfectly for my safety pins.

:woohoo:

I know it is tiny, but it is a manifestation, since I had never seen the box before.

94. My "relationship" ended
Edited on Mon Feb-26-07 11:46 AM by Lurking_Argyle
I put that in quotes because she didn't agree that we had a relationship. We had the "we gotta talk" final conversation and it wasn't pretty. To borrow from Dr. Phil (don't hate me :hide: ) it takes 2 to maintain a relationship, and only 1 to end it--she elected to end it. The "why" is immaterial because no reason is good enough and feelings don't obey the rules of logic.

Nature knows that the right person and I haven't yet met, and in her infinite variety, there's more than one. To think that there's only one in spite of a huge population is...illogical.

edit for clarity.

96. I can empathize
she got a job out of town and had to move. The calls got fewer, messages weren't returned, greeting cards were cool and without feeling. I pressed her, and she was angry that I didn't disappear and made her the "bad guy". I think that she didn't want a long-distance relationship and didn't know how to end it. A clumsy honest try early is kinder than a cruel "we gotta talk" call later. :(

97. You're right, Lurking_Argyle...
people need to be honest about the future of a relationship even when it will cause pain to the other person because it's going to cause even more pain later. It's an extremely difficult thing to do though when the person is a compassionate person. I speak from experience. :(

I'm so sorry that this happened to you. However, you now have room in your life for a person who you love and who truly wants to be your partner to come in. I ask the Universe that this person finds you easily and in a timely fashion after you've completely healed from the pain from the difficult ending of this prior relationship. (This or something better for the highest good of all involved.) Now is the time to work on this healing.

108. !!The Attitude of Grattitude just manifested me something!!!
Edited on Wed Feb-28-07 04:00 PM by lildreamer316
So I'm sitting here today reading about the Saturn and Neptune things going on; when I get a series of phone calls reminding me of some financial things I need to take care of in the next 2 or so days. I begin to be a small bit stressed because I believed that if I paid them all; we would be cutting it too close for comfort. THEN, I realized I needed to be GRATEFUL for the services (bills) and also, that I had been affirming "My and my family's services that we use(water, cable, phone, insurance, etc.) are all paid on time and in full." (Ungrammatical but it works-).

So, I was truly grateful for the opportunity to pay for these services; because they are there to serve me and it provides for others. I really felt the gratefulness because I saw it in the flow of my asking and allowing: I was being given the opportunity to mainfest EXACTLY as I had been asking. AND; it was easy! When I called to make arrangements to get the money to the people when I could; they even gave me extra time with no trouble!! Ahhhhhh.

THEN; the mechanic with my car (remember the one with the biiiiig repair?) called and told me the car was ready! First; two or three full days before I thought it would be ready! Second; $200+ LESS than we had been quoted!!

NOW; I will be able to pay those services with a bit to spare! Probably more will be coming in!
I am so excited by the understanding I have been given today, and the shown result of the fact I was GRATEFUL for my "bills"(Services)!

AHA! (I won't go running down the street naked shouting Eureka; but I could...;) ):bounce:
