my bizarre dream: shedding skin
Hi all,

I'm taking a minute off of work to post a quick recount of a bizarre dream I had last night, to see if anyone has thoughts about it. This contains new symbolism for me and I don't quite 'get it'.

In the dream I'm minding my own business, in my own house, doing my normal thing when I notice that I'm developing blisters all over my forearms and hands. They are like burn blisters, filling with fluid, but there's no pain. Just the blisters that get bigger and bigger. Then as become concerned I show my fiancee (we marry this Aug 8!!) and he inspects them. I have to stand over the bathroom sink because some blisters pop and fluid is draining out of my forearms. When the blisters pop the skin goes slack, and more pop etc, and water pours out of my hands and wrists like a faucet is running down them. If feels the same way too, as if I were being rinsed off. I'm watching this happen, but not panciked.

Then my skin starts falling off. My fiancee helps to pull the skin down past my fingers, still no pain, and new skin is showing beneath the old. The skin of my left hand seems to pull off intact, like a glove, but it's still attached to the middle part of my left pinky finger. I tell him to wait, it's not done yet, let's not force things and cause pain.

Then I wake up. It's 3 am and the moon is out, shining brightly.

Now is that creepy or what? Any insight would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Crikkett

that which separates our inner and outer realities.

I know it's sort of gross but I've jupiter in scorpio and a strong stomach.

It sounds as though it was an unconscious purge of old inner stuff you needed to let go of in advance of your pending union. The fact that your fiancee assisted you in the release of this stuff and there was no pain really bodes incredibly well for your union.

The pinky finger represents Mercury (ie your consciousness and ability to communicate.) It may just mean that you'll take a while to put this into perspective.

Blessings on your union dear. Let us be of future support if you need it. Weddings can be nerve wracking. Best and joyous luck with you and yours and please feel greatly relieved.

3. I think it is a good dream too
Yes, it may sound gross to have boils and your skin peel off. However, it was not painful and your fiance came to your help, he was not repulsed. I think your subconscious understands that your wedding is a huge growth spurt for you and that you can trust your fiance to help you, even in repugnant circumstances.
Good luck.

4. A new phase!
You're entering a new phase in your life, shedding the old life and gaining a shiny new one. Sounds great!

5. Overall, I see nothing "scary" to take from it.
Remember to look at your dreams in terms of major areas of your life. I tend to think of hands and forearms in terms of work. IS something major changing about your work situation? Something you need to finish?

It sounds like your fiance is a wonderful person and will be a great mate for you! Blessings upon your union!

6. Actually, we are on a "death march" which is our slang for
ceaseless work, with little sleep, trying to finish long-running projects as quickly as possible, in preparation for the wedding. One client has me very stressed out because I'm having a hard time understanding them- there's the pinky finger, huh? -and it's hard to get approvals without hitting a homerun. And I want them to let me finish and for them to pay me already.

You're right, My S.O. is a doll. He's unbeleivable. I'm sometimes overwhelmed by my good fortune, like I can't believe I deserve him.

I need some of BlueIris' peppermint soap!

Thanks,
C
