EVERYBODY-Be expecting a miracle
Edited on Mon Feb-06-06 10:50 PM by oxbow
I subscribe to a Yahoo group called Daily Dose of Gratitude

In the last day or so, it has been revealed that several members have gotten the same message from their guides: Expect a miracle to happen. So I'm passing on the miracle bug to you guys-

=======================================================================
There are currently 837 members in this group so if we all are
consciously expecting a miracle we are indeed, seeding the
collective consciousness for such an occurrence. The process is
referred to as the 100th Monkey Phenomena. Here's some info about it.

==================================================================
Have you ever heard the theory of the 100th monkey? In the 1950's
biologists and anthropologists were studying the behavior of a
species of monkeys that live on some of the outlying islands around
Japan. In order to gain the confidence of the monkeys and get close
enough to study their behavior, the scientists would place sweet
potatoes on the beach. The monkeys adored these moist potatoes
(called batatas), but disliked the sand clinging to them.

One day an adolescent female monkey (about eighteen months old) on
the island of Koshima, solved this problem by washing her batata in
fresh spring water. She taught the "trick" to her mother, and then
to her playmates, and over a period of time most of the monkeys on
the island learned to wash their batatas to get rid of the sand. At
this point perhaps 99 monkeys had been trained in this behavior. One
day the 100th monkey learned how to wash his batata. By the next day
every single monkey on the island of Koshima was doing this - even
the ones who lived a bit more isolated from the others and had never
witnessed a demonstration. But what was particularly astonishing was
that this new behavior was suddenly observed in the populations of
these same species of monkeys on the other islands. Every monkey in
the remote outlying islands was washing away the sand on their sweet
potatoes without ever having been taught how to do it!

Critical Mass

The number 100 may not be exact, but the theory of critical mass
evolved from this study: That once a certain number of a species
learns a new behavior and that number reaches a critical mass, it
can spontaneously be transmitted to all members of the species. This
was very encouraging to metaphysicians and philosophers, who
envisioned a time that a significant percentage of the human
species, having learned to live with one another peacefully and
harmoniously, would reach a critical mass and transmit this behavior
to all of humanity.

I first learned about this study about the time I opened my private
practice in LA in the mid-80's. I so enthusiastically embodied the
ideal of the 100th monkey, that whenever I treated a new patient I
would think "maybe this is the 100th monkey. Maybe if he or she can
learn to take responsibility for the state of the world and make the
appropriate inner changes, the world will become a better place."
One day I made an important discovery: I AM THE 100TH MONKEY!

we could use one. Not long ago during the Alito stuff my guides told me to not worry and everything will be alright either way. So maybe. I'm not holding my breath though. I've become less hopeful for everything they get away with.

3. I agree it is a tremendous struggle. The ups and downs overall & personal
I think we all need the positive vibes, and the times we do posses the positive vibes we have to pass it on.

My vibes are down right now, so I really appreciate it.

6. I know we're told not to ask for specifics with these things...
But I keep getting a strong message to expect "spontaneous mass healing" on a global scale. When I imagine that happening, I see both physical and mental healing. I see those in power being cleared of whatever blocks are causing them to do this damage. I see all people becoming stronger. Yes, even the Bush admin. Because when they feel their true power and their true selves, they will cease to act out of fear or greed, or malice. So I keep my thoughts focused on healing, a wave of healing washing over the earth and lighting up the auras of the sick and suffering.

7. Lunar standstill in March & September of this year
It occurs every 18.6 years. Do you think this is related?

from the wiki:

At the major lunar standstill, which takes place every 18.6 years, the range of the declination of the Moon reaches a maximum. As a result, at high latitudes, the Moon appears to move in just two weeks from high in the sky to low on the horizon. This time appears to have had special significance for the Bronze Age societies who built the megalithic monuments in Britain, and it also has significance for some neo-pagan religions. The next major lunar standstill occurs in 2006. more at: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lunar_standstill

I found this article about the lunar standstill by Jean Elliot.

In 2005 and 2006 we are in a major lunar standstill season. For several years now some of my astrological camping colleagues and I have been trying to establish what lunar standstills are and when they occur. There is usually no reference to them in most standard astronomy books, though they are referred to by authors who have written about ancient megalithic sites such as Callanish on the Isle of Lewis off the west coast of Scotland.

Lunar standstills are in a sense the polar opposites to solar and lunar eclipses. During a lunar standstill the Moon has to be roughly at right angles to the Moon's Nodes, as opposed to being on or near these Nodes at times of eclipse. Also the Moon's Nodes have to be in the signs of Aries or Libra, or Virgo or Pisces: the signs near the equinoctial points. The Moon's North Node is in Aries or Pisces during the major lunar standstill season and in Libra or Virgo during the minor lunar standstill season.

****

Major Lunar Standstills and Megalithic Sites

It is believed by some that much emphasis was placed on lunar standstills by the builders of the megalithic sites on the western fringes of Europe and in the British Isles. Perhaps they had an understanding, on some level at least, of the Metonic Cycle (when the Moon reaches the same phase and same degree of the Zodiac every 19 years); the 18.6 year Nodal cycle, the cycle of Eclipses and possibly the Saros cycles. There are at least two eclipse seasons per year. A Saros starts with one Solar eclipse, followed by another one in the same series 18 years, 9 - 11 days later. The Solar eclipses which take place in one year each belong to a different Saros series. A Saros series is made up of roughly 72 Solar eclipses over a 1300 year period.

Some of these megalithic sites are believed to be about 5000 years old, older than the development of astrology and astronomy in the Mesopotamian civilisation and much older than Meton, the Greek (c.430 BCE), who was accredited with the discovery of the Metonic cycle. Robin Heath has explained how the Aubrey holes, the first phase of Stonehenge, were used to predict eclipses and has done much work generally in helping us understand ancient archeoastronomy in relation to stone circles. The 56 Aubrey holes were likely to have been used to predict lunar standstills as well. It is unlikely that the builders understood these cycles in the same way as we do now, but their observations over long periods of time may have enabled accurate predictions of lunar standstills and eclipses. Considering that Neolithic people did not live very long lives, this would have been an amazing achievement and knowledge must have been passed on from parent to child.

Jonathan Cainer is excited about this:

2006 is due to be an amazing year for all of us.

If it doesn’t yet seem different to you, give it time. A strange heavenly phenomenon is about to start changing our lives. You’ll be able to see it, wherever you are - and even if you don’t happen to be looking at the sky, you’ll be able to feel its influence all year long.

***

Lunar Standstills follow an eighteen and a half year pattern. They are breathtakingly beautiful and full of mysterious meaning. Our ancestors knew them to be energy releasing, tide driving, weather-pattern breaking, mood changing clarion calls, heralding times of great awakening and tremendous transformation.

***

At the peak of a Lunar Standstill, the Moon exudes a special kind of energy. Mystical places have the power to draw down and capture this, rather like aerials, picking up a radio transmission.

***

According to tradition, Lunar Standstills re-energise these ley lines, causing them to widen dramatically and to send out a much stronger signal. For a few months in the middle of this year, the entire grid will broaden out until it becomes a blanket of energy, covering every inch of the land.

***

There’ll be a real return of the feelgood factor, a bright burst of fresh hope and genuine inspiration. We won’t solve all our problems at a stroke but even the pessimists among us will start to feel more inclined to believe that one day, if we keep on trying hard enough, solutions may come our way!

The last paragraph really connects with me because this whole year since the beginning of January I've been having this AMAZING positive feeling. Usually it's not like this. I do have incredibly high hopes for this year and that things will change and go back to how they used to be before all of Bush's nonsense. And I feel hopeful with my personal life so I am always hopeful and praying.

9. Yea, I was told by my Dr. that "2006 will be a good year for you."
Now I'm thinking that if we play our cards right, 2006 will be a good year for most everybody. If this stuff about the moon is correct, then this is gonna be a great opportunity to nudge things into a healing/positive groove.

Maybe we should begin pooling our resources, posting on other forums where people like us go to be expecting miracles this year!

15. I love this thread - thanks everybody!
I WAS feeling uncharacteristically optimistic after Christmas - usually I have a big dip during the winter months.

I have even had the inspiration to start a long de-tox eating program - never say DIET again! x( - to cleanse my system and hopefully help clear my mind as well. This is going well after many failed attempts in the past decade.

But since the violent reaction to the Danish cartoons I have felt very disheartened, angry, fearful and hateful to everybody in the world who I feel are not wanting a peaceful, FREE world of ideas, beliefs and love. I am trying right now not to drown in this negativity, while continuing on with my de-tox.....de-toxing always makes me feel very down anyway in the beginning, so this is probably additional to world events.

Anyway, I can use some thoughts and energies as in this thread, and MUST focus on the Light and on any possible Miracles that may be coming our earthward way!
:-) :-) :-)

16. I have been dealing with the same stuff, Demex
When humanity's inhumanity gets me down, there's an exercise that I like to do. I imagine all the world covered in shadows, and shadow people fighting and hurting each other, oblivious to their own foolishness.

However, I can see their real selves standing behind them. Their real selves are full of light, smiling peacefully. They are waiting for the shadow peopke to wake up and notice the light, which is their true nature. I imagine that light increasing, one by one, and joining together with the other beacons of light until it covers the earth.

This exercise has helped me keep hope alive. We are moving forward, in fits and starts, two steps forward and one step back. All this struggle is not for nothing. It has value in the grand scheme of things, and I know that I will be alive to see an age of miracles come to pass on this earth. In fact, I think that it's already begun.

I also sometimes use similar imaginings/visions of people I am angry with, hate :-(, or fear....imagining their souls without their earthly bodies and Egos and how we all really are Love.

But lately the sheer numbers of polarized ideas/beliefs of people clamoring for attention and power has just gotten to me! It just seems like TOO MUCH!

But threads like this are comforting and inspirational.

37. I'd like to think not. It would be contrary to my beliefs.
But citing something that has been proven FALSE hurts the argument.

If the author had stated it as a PARABLE to explain this line of thought, fine. But to this day, he does us all a disservice by LYING in the first place.

It was unnecessary and it causes the philosophy unneeded criticism.

I was one of the most ardent perveyers of this myth until this was pointed out to me, and I felt very foolish standing there with my pants down around my ankles. It caused considerable harm to me and many others, since it called into question our very credibility.

42. Crab Nebula, I feel the principle is valid also vis a vis quantum theory
that the universe we live in is a Hologram - a butterfly in Timbuctu is affected by a wind in Tucson...or meditators e.g. 1 per 1000 residents in a given city statistically have been shown to lower crime -rate, improve and uplift the area, including the weather, in general.

A wonderful book by Michael Talbot is the' Holographic Universe'. Energy is local and nonlocal, as are molecules etc.

The movie 'What the Bleep' goes into the latest findings of quantum mechanics as you know, and is truly liberating!

Yes we are the Hologram/Universe/the computer in front of us, the chair, ALL the monkeys, GOD/DESS, the One energy - 'THE ALL THAT IS'.... This is the' Cosmic Joke 'that many are awakening to and thus finding their True Nature as you say, OXBOW, and Self Empowerment is our next step - free of credo's and controlling belief systems - free of the separation of belief in DUALITY - the biggest lie of all! We are merging with our True Radiant Ecstatic Fearless Infinitely Loving Self!!

In the Matrix, Neo finally defeated his opponant by realizing and consciously becoming/being him.

Feeling our Presence within the body is direct step to feeling IT everywhere-brilliantly described by Eckhardt Tolle in little book:' Practicing The Power of Now'. (Just takes practice).

the 100th monkey phenomenon is a myth, but it's author still stands by it

In Wyoming, the roads used to have cattle rails on them to keep cattle from getting on them. Now, they just draw a red line and apparently, that's good enough to keep the cattle off the road. This is from my friend who grew up in Wyoming. Is there another explanation for such behavior in cattle across different generations? I'm too tired to think straight right now, so I'll just throw this question out there and retire.

get them used to being hitched up (to a post) with a good stout rope. Later you can use a flimsy piece of string because the horse has gotten used to being stuck to a post.

I don't know if momma cattle do or even can teach their babies to not go on the road. Other than by example, there would be no way. I don't know. Maybe I just want to believe in the ability of a minority to awaken higher consciousness in the species too much. But it seems to me that there is *something* going on here with all of this.

heard the sound of a can opener, automatically comes running whenever he/she hears one. My cat, Tiny, was born in the wild, but when I brought him in the house, he always came running whenever I used the can opener. Go figure...

38. Yes - called learned habit. Works the same for elephants too.
It's the time honored trick in circuses.

Make it unbearable in the first few instances to violate some imposed behavior, then remove the punishment once the desired behavior is reached.

Had ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to do with a "higher consciousness" or "intelligence".

Strictly "Pavlov's Dog" type classic behavior conditioning.

39. Still though, the invalidation of the 100 monkeys theory doesn't
change the fact that a large number of people expecting something to happen can make that thing manifest. If its anything that people in this group know, its that belief=power=reality. Unlike other animals, man's beliefs can change the world. In that spirit, I will continue calling and expecting miracles.
