One week challenge: will you give it a try?
Edited on Sat Jul-03-10 06:22 AM by I Have A Dream
At the beginning of each day, take 5 minutes to clearly state what your expectations are. Do this in positive terms. Follow that by a few minutes of stating those things for which you feel grateful.

At the end of the day, do the same thing.

If possible, do this (or at least start this) while lying in bed.

Examples of stating your expectations:

- I EXPECT for my body to be effortlessly, healthfully thin.
- I EXPECT for my family and friends to love me and appreciate me for who I am.
- I EXPECT for my job (or to find a job, if you're looking for a job) to allow me to do work that I find fulfilling, to be filled with coworkers (if you have coworkers) who appreciate me, to pay me so that I have financial abundance... (whatever else you want in a job)

If we're overweight, we're not going to become thin in a week, but we can start to feel that a change has started to happen physically, and if we continue using this approach, it will happen quickly and easily. If we're not making enough money, we're not going to all of a sudden, in a week, have all the money that we need. However, we can start to see small changes, and we can even feel the difference.

I think that we all know what to do in reference to the gratitude part.

During the day, restate your expectations as you need to do so. State additional expectations as you go through your day. Do the same with gratitude.

Are you willing to give it a try? :)

:hi:

I also have always really appreciated the Abraham messages (I saw a thread mentioning Abraham below). I don't see it so much as "feel good" in the sense that you hide from reality and ignore challenges and difficulties (which is how so many slam this approach to life), but rather focusing on what makes you FEEL better -- being aware of the realities and challenges but instead focusing on what raises your vibration (what you choose to experience), rather than on what lowers it, as this higher vibration can help us on so many levels (emotionally, mentally, physically) in order to meet and rise above the challenges and find a new way.

So, I truly appreciate the various threads I'm seeing first thing this morning about this subject, and how to achieve a positive focus and then take positive action.

Blessings to you and yours, IHAD...blessings to All...

2. Also, please bear with me as I try to explain....

I feel the need to express something here about this entire subject of "positivity." Thanks in advance for bearing with me as I clumsily attempt to share my thoughts. :)

Positivity and a "feel good" philosophy gets slammed a lot. And, when positivity causes people to get into a place of apathy and not take action -- beyond maintaining a positive outlook -- to help another or help themselves, I can understand why it gets a bad name. If it's merely an avoidance mechanism and not authentic, then therein lies the problem, IMHO.

To me, however, if we are indeed action oriented, the idea of having a positive attitude simply makes a lot of practical sense (let alone "vibrational" sense, if one believes in the interconnected concept of energy):

If we are faced with what we perceive as awful circumstances, if we face those circumstances with anger, hatred, a sense of victimization, etc., etc., I believe it's very hard to accomplish anything to change the situation. Anger, hatred, victimization...all of it leads so easily to a sense of hopelessness. We know how that is -- it's so hard to rise above and confront a situation in order to change it when we feel hopeless.

On the other hand...

If we are faced with what we perceive as awful circumstances, and we see them -- we're not hiding from them nor sugar coating them -- yet we choose to focus our attention, our emotions, our INTENTIONS on the circumstances or life experience we choose to shift TO, we have more energy on all levels (emotional, mental, physical, spiritual), and that energetic vibrational increase -- I do believe -- helps us not only get through the current situation but enables us to come up with more positive solutions and deal with everything much better. Positivity in and of itself doesn't lead to hopelessness, so long as it's authentic (and not an avoidance mechanism).

5. Positive change is far easier in this level of the new energy than it has been...
...if nothing happens, perhaps examine anything blocking the affirmation, and work upon that.

Thanks IHAD!

7. Give it a Try? This is so good that
I had to print it with my intentions. It really helped in going over desires. It seems to me some are easy to to think about with pleasure and others (on the list) need help. Now, I'm going to color it and add some glitter :)

Thanks, IHAD!

9. My life is whole and complete as it is.
It is whole and complete when I am alone. It is whole and complete when I am with others.

Expressing things, hopes, and expectations in the positive mode is far more powerful than in the negative mode.

10. This seems applicable...
"Live your life so that the fear of death can never enter your heart. When you arise in the morning, give thanks for the morning light. Give thanks for your life and strength. Give thanks for your food and for the joy of living. And if perchance you see no reason for giving thanks, rest assured the fault is in yourself. " -- Chief Tecumseh, Shawnee Indian Chief

12. I am in, too
I often become passive, in a false sense of trying to be "in the moment". It is a wonderful way to also be "mindful - in the moment".
