I feel the need to express something here about this entire subject of "positivity." Thanks in advance for bearing with me as I clumsily attempt to share my thoughts. :)
Positivity and a "feel good" philosophy gets slammed a lot. And, when positivity causes people to get into a place of apathy and not take action -- beyond maintaining a positive outlook -- to help another or help themselves, I can understand why it gets a bad name. If it's merely an avoidance mechanism and not authentic, then therein lies the problem, IMHO.
To me, however, if we are indeed action oriented, the idea of having a positive attitude simply makes a lot of practical sense (let alone "vibrational" sense, if one believes in the interconnected concept of energy):
If we are faced with what we perceive as awful circumstances, if we face those circumstances with anger, hatred, a sense of victimization, etc., etc., I believe it's very hard to accomplish anything to change the situation. Anger, hatred, victimization...all of it leads so easily to a sense of hopelessness. We know how that is -- it's so hard to rise above and confront a situation in order to change it when we feel hopeless.
On the other hand...
If we are faced with what we perceive as awful circumstances, and we see them -- we're not hiding from them nor sugar coating them -- yet we choose to focus our attention, our emotions, our INTENTIONS on the circumstances or life experience we choose to shift TO, we have more energy on all levels (emotional, mental, physical, spiritual), and that energetic vibrational increase -- I do believe -- helps us not only get through the current situation but enables us to come up with more positive solutions and deal with everything much better. Positivity in and of itself doesn't lead to hopelessness, so long as it's authentic (and not an avoidance mechanism).
