Police are looking for the perpetrators of the crime against a papillon-poodle mix owned by Brittany Garcia. The dog was found with its nose, mouth, eyes and other body parts fused with a strong, fast-drying glue.

Garcia found her dog, Precious, suffering in the yard of her east-side home on Sunday and took it to a Johnston animal hospital.

The four-month old puppy survived the ordeal.

Heather Starr, a spokeswoman for the Animal Rescue League, said others also have offered to add to the reward. Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 223-1400.

Last I heard the reward is now up to $3,000.
