Morning kittie haiku -
********

cold night, warm bodies
wake covered, four furry balls
tumble off with sheets

********

I had to push and lift the coverlet and sheets off this morning; they all rolled out of the niches of my body and rolled over Laz - four protesting balls of fur, trying to stay curled comfortably up when they landed on him.

Damn it Mom! It's too cold, stay in bed today!

1. Nice haiku...
Nothing quite like a kitty blanket! :loveya:

Not only is it warm and snuggly, but they beam sleep rays at you purr and help you sleep well.

D'Artagnan knocked me out the other day...tag-teamed me with Esme.
Esme took 'lap' position, D'Artagnan's eleven-and-a-half pounds on my chest...
"ACTIVATE PURR MECHANISM!"

...and in less than ten minutes I'm out cold. :P

OK, make that 'warm'...but still out...

2. I've got one...
Trapped in a nightmare
on my back, I cannot move
Cats asleep on me

Which is what happened last night. I was asleep, dreaming I was trapped somewhere flat on my back, and couldn't move at all. I woke up covered in cats (three of them), and had to thrash and flail about to get them off me so I could turn over.

3. Brilliant. Haven't we all been"trapped " byour furbabies in a position that we would
never stay in if they were not there. Ii always feel badly disturbing them, so I stay where I am....

I have three cats and a dog that pin me in place. They each have their chosen spot, and that is where they stay...

8. Remember the story...
...of the Chinese philosopher whose cat was asleep on the gorgeous silk sleeve of his robe?
Rather than disurb his cat's sleep, he cut off the sleeve.

OK, fess up.
How many of you had a first response on the order of "Well, YEAH..." or "Of course!" or "...and your point IS?"

Me too.

9. Was it a Chinese philosopher?
There's also a version of this story in the Muslim world about the Prophet Muhammad himself (who was a known cat lover, regardless of this apparently very ancient urban legend).

6. LMAO! I love it!
When it gets cold out, I turn the thermostat way down. I can tolerate cold way better than heat, and this season is good for my electric bill budget!

Every night, I get 5 of my 7 pinning me down under the covers. I try my best to wiggle out with the least amount of disturbance, but I see their contemptuous stares as I jostle them.

They forgive me quickly. I have thumbs, and therefore can open their food.
