Patches, a very discerning kitty...

I am visiting my twin in Vancouver, WA and her pound kitty will not stay out of my lap.

She is a true Democrat from tip to tail. From her taste in reading material to her love of people. No judgment, just love.

1. Pound kitties are like that
Once they realize they've met a few suckers kind souls who will treat them well, they never let go.

I think my old lady cat is my last kitty since I don't want to run the risk of a pet outliving me. If I crack, though, I'll look for some elderly cat on death row. Rescues are the best.

2. Oh, Warpy, that's what was keeping me from adopting another -
the fear the cat would outlive me. I was quite upset by my train of thought and finally decided to risk it one more time (after my husband assured me that if I croaked he was happy to take care of the kitty). The little guy - now named Izzy - is a sweetheart and he'll probably do more to help keep me alive that anything else. I always want to bring home the senior kitties, though. Something about an old cat in the pound breaks my heart. This time I had to find a small cat that wouldn't intimidate our old girl, but if I live long enough I'll start dragging home the elderly cats.
