Malware question (e-mail forwarding)
Anyone know if there is any sort of Trojan horse program that results in e-mails being sent from an infected computer automatically being sent to another e-mail address?

The last e-mail I received from my mother was sent to not only me, but also to an AOL e-mail address that contained 3 numbers and then 6 letters that looks somewhat suspicious. It was in the 'To:' field which strikes me as a bit unusual, both if the e-mail was legitimately sent and if her computer was compromised.

Perhaps i'm being a bit paranoid, but my family is somewhat computer-retarded and i'm worried they have picked up some Malware and i'm too far away to get it off for them. Any input would be appreciated!

1. sounds like a virus to me
viruses often function by sending emails to everyone in your address book ...

if either you or your family is not running anti-virus software, you should be ... and it's important to ensure that the software is kept up-to-date almost daily ...

here's a link to download FREE AVG which is great anti-virus software ... it's very, very easy to setup even for non-techies:

hope this helps ...

2. Thanks!
I got a response back from my mom, and it turns out it was the result of a finger malfunction. No worries, but thanks for the input.
