A Cassette Deck for the PC The PlusDeck 2 is a full-logic cassette deck for your PC. Use it to archive your old cassette tapes of 80s hair bands into digital media files for playback on your PC. Or better yet, archive your favorite audio files or streams onto cassette - perfect for playback in your '78 Midget that is still not sporting an in-dash CD player. (Those of you still in the 8-track days will have to keep waiting for a PC-friendly solution I'm afraid...)
a spare cassette deck connected to my line in on my sound. I use DbPoweramp Music Converter (good freeware) to digitize and save as MP3 files on my computer. Then I usually burn a CD from the MP3 files. Cheap and easy way to do it. Or use line out to input to the deck.
Remember those? ;) Anyhow, I know of a way to do it but it seems overly complicated. It involves hooking up a spare receiver to my Audigy 2 then hooking up my turntable. Is there an easier way. Couldn't I just hook up the turntable to my Audigy 2 via the co-axial hook-ups?
3. I have digitized reel-to-reel tapes from the 60's.
All I have to do is hook up the tape player directly to my laptop. You can get the necessary cables and adaptors at Radio Shack. I use Magix software that allows me to clean up the recordings (the tapes are recordings of LPs) and burn the CDs.
This is a 40-year-old reel-to-reel tape recorder/player so I'm sure you can do it with a turntable.
