My 14 yr old crashed at 8:30 tonight. He usually gets up at 6 and goes to bed around 9:30 or 10. Lately, it has been a bear to get him up. He is definitely growing, but is it normal for teens to need 10 hours of sleep to be human?
1. They need at least ten, and their body clocks are being altered
A growth spurt will put a zinger in their energy, but they will probably make up for it later. A lot of teenagers will want to sleep into the daytime and stay up later at night. This is not a ploy, this is biology! :)
