2. I love a good sausage. I adore them. But I have to ask ......
..... why would **anyone** make a Wagyu beef hot dog?

Who can give a sane answer to that question?

4. Here's the logical answer
The cows that the Wagu come from have all kinds of innards. Gotta use them up somehow. Use the whole animal seems to make a lot of sense. I wonder how much they're getting per dog.

sells them on a bun with mustard for 11 bucks. How's that for a markup?

I do, though, find this item suspicious: https://www.jimmypsbutchershop.com/sc/sc_shop.asp?catid=132&level=2&pid=163

3. See now, I saw this yesterday
over in the Lounge when the corn dog pizza was the first picture. I refused to sully the dignity of this group by dragging it over here.

But I just gotta say...Bacon Explosion Wellington.

12. The sad thing is
that there are people that eat this shit all the time.

Invariably they're over 300 pounds and snack at KFC, and are lucky they have a functioning artery.

I could try a taste, but a whole dish... I'd feel like I was taking years off my life.

I bet they're all southern too.

13. Park that misconception over there -------------------->
Southern? Why would you say such a thing?

Do you think obesity is purely a Southern thing?

I grew up in Pennsylvania, which is, as I'm sure you know, a Northern commonwealth. And this kind of stuff is par for the area where I come from. If they could bread and deep-fry salad, they would.

I've ever seen a salad with sliced beef and french fries in it. I didn't eat it, mind you, but others in my party who were native to the area did partake.

Edited to clarify that I meant in Pittsburgh.

18. Actually, you CAN bread and deep fry salad!
It's called tempura. It's pretty good (in moderation), too.

19. When you can do the lettuce,
tomato slices, cucumber slices, and then dress it all up with the obligatory half-bottle of the Orange Stuff, get back to me.

Vegetables and shrimp ain't salad, child.

It a french fry poboy. That's right. French fries on french bread with mayo, lettuce and tomato.

:wow:

I really thought the Primanti Brothers made the most disgusting sandwich.

And now, thanks to you, I realize I was wrong.

Who EATS something like that???

People in Louisiana, where they may not live long, but they live happy.

:toast:

Oh, and that sandwich in your link doesn't sound half bad to me.

20. Now, now.
My mother made wonderful headcheese. She wasn't southern at all, but from the San Francisco bay area.

It was delicious, but I never SAW her make it. I had better things to do, like polish the roof shingles and inventory the grass blades.

26. Oh, don't get me wrong.
I love headcheese. I know it's not pretty, but it sure is tasty. And I like the way that everything that can be used from an animal is used.

I saw part of the process in Breaux Bridge, LA, one time. I won't describe it here.

I have a love of sweet heat.

22. Paula Deen uses donuts as hamburger buns...
They are enormous and seem like they'd be difficult to eat. Bacon, egg, burger, and donut...

23. I think watching Paula Deen will clog your arteries.
She is also starting to get enormous, on the way to looking like Paul Prudhomme if she isn't careful - I say this out of concern for her health.

She didn't even slice the doughnuts.

A friend of her uses Krispy Kremes to make a bread pudding too. I saw it on her show a few years ago.
Talk about sugar shock! :)

25. It's always overkill with her...
She did a delicious looking chocolate cakey/dessert thing with fresh whipped cream but at the end she added a FULLSIZE Snicker's bar on each piece of cake. It looked stupid and who would want to eat it like that?

I'm not trying to diss her. She's got many good recipes that I've enjoyed. I just wonder why she has the need to go for the shock value.

27. I stopped in knowing I could find Tangerine here, quickly, to give away a Valentine
heart, then, looking at this post I had to go throw up. On return, I found there was still a heart left anyway.
Happy VD to all the cooking and baking folks.
