Poll question: Southern College Football Team with Best History
Not who's the best now, not who was the best in '70s, but who has the best history overall. Vote and discuss!

2. Really?
Does Alabama really have 12 national football titles? Ugh. Auburn has ONE - and should have at least gotten to play for another last season.

Embarassing admission time. I just voted for Auburn in this poll and got electronically called out when a big message popped up saying "You've Already Voted in this Poll!!".

Oops. I guess I kinda knew I had already voted when I hit that button. I'm so ashamed!!

You know, even though I'm a HUGE Auburn fan, I have to admit that the football program at Alabama has an almost unparalleled history.

AND, I'm happy to say I really still dig you, QC, even in the face of the shocking discovery you are a Bama fan!
:o

4. it was a nice crowd
I estimated about 30,000, but the newspaper says closer to 25,000.

Sadly, the hot dogs sucked, but the girl from Northside High that sold it to me was pretty. :)

I don't really know how to interpret these things, since we were facing off against ourselves. But generally speaking, the defense, I think, looked very good, and the frosh qb John Parker Wilson was pretty impressive. For a freshman.

11. Nah,
its just what happens when ignorance and jealousy collide. No way any other team should be in this list besides Bama. No frikkin way.

12. Sure there is - if you consider all history - which includes
both record and tradition. But men never consider those things.

That's why I voted for Tennessee. Best damn traditions in the South: running through the "T," the football players "walk" to the stadium before the game, Rocky Top, the General (who beat Bear all but one year), those bright day-glo oranges, the parties on the Strip - and we don't use toilet paper and Tide boxes to root for our team - although, last year, toilet paper might have sufficed.

:hi:
