I want an iMac G5 BUT
I want to continue using my old OS9 G4. Is there any way I can use the same keyboard and mouse with both computers - switching when necessary?

1. If your keyboard/mouse is USB, then yes
If they are the old ADB, you can try the iMate by Griffin. I tried it, but it didn't work well for me.

2. I bought a Logitech Playstation 2 keyboard. It has a real
long cord. It cost $19.95 and works real well. I have a Logitech marble mouse. It also has a long cord. Instead of having to plug and unplug, an investment under $50 dollars got me a good mouse and keyboard.

3. I assume you don't want to have to move the plugs, right?
You're looking for a USB KVM box, essentially. http://www.kvm-switches-online.com/kvm-configurator.html

If you're using the original keyboard and mouse for the G4, you might want to consider upgrading - the new G5 keyboards are closer to Zero force keyboards than the old ones, thus less likely ot give repetitive stress injuries.

I can't remember what connections the G4 used, but if it's USB, you're fine with a USB KVM.
