Hubble Deep Field: The Single Most Important Image Ever Taken by Man
When I contemplate that I have to inhabit the same biosphere with Limbaugh, Hannity, O'Reilly, Coulter, Rove, Cheney, et al, I sometimes have to escape that depressing thought by wondering is there someplace in the ether where that ilk might not ever exist. So I watch this video wondering if there could be a planet DU out there? A planet where we could look through our telescopes and watch in amusement the planet Freeptard getting sucked into an annihilating black hole.

3. If memory serves me
the field of view of the original deep field image was the equivalent of a pencil lead held at arms length.

In that small field of view over 3000 galaxies and how many such fields of view would be needed to view the entire night sky?

That's why I could never wrap my head around the God thing... There ain't no way one dude can be responsible for all of that.

9. God isn't the one dude who created all of that.
God IS all of that.

Doesn't matter if people call it god or science, but looking at the immensity those images represent leaves me in complete and utter awe.

I wish more religious types looked at images like this rather than bibles and korans.

8. Nicely dedicated and nicely done
and every time I look a pompous, bloated right wing ranter of any career description, I try to think of images like this. It lets me know just how small they really are, how utterly unimportant they are.

That's what keeps me going.

I sent the link on to others, others that aren't mired in biblical literalism (needless to say).
