SOFIA {Stratospheric Observatory for Infrared Astronomy} Saved!
SOFIA Saved!
By Jonathan McDowell

July 20, 2006 | NASA has saved an airborne infrared observatory from cancellation. Originally zeroed out in next year's NASA budget, an agency review has concluded that the NASA/German Stratospheric Observatory for Infrared Astronomy (SOFIA) should proceed to completion, with science flights starting as early as 2008. SOFIA is a modified Boeing 747 airliner with a 2.5-meter (98-inch) telescope poking out a hole in its side.

1. It was very clever how they got the WH hack running NASA to spare SOFIA
Jesus when he returns will not show up on radars--all theologians agree; so some alternate early warning system must be devised if Jesus' approach is to be detected. Although Jesus absorbs ultra high frequency radio energy, or is transparent to it, he still reflects visible light and being made of flesh and blood he has a infrared signature.
It is imperative that we watch the skies for Jesus, as he's more likely to attack now than ever, and the SOFIA project gives us a high resolution infrared capability right off the shelf for no more additional investment required.

I'm sure they'd love to have you.

2. WOOHOO! Good news! Does a LOT more good than that *other* 747 flying all
over the country at taxpayers' expense. This airborne observatory could reveal new worlds; the airborne bloviatory is only likely to destroy this one.
