Divide on Doctrine Fuels Fight . . .
A revealing article about Patrick Henry College, which specializes in providing "higher" education to homeschooled fundie children. Is this a sign of hope that the Talibornagains will end up eating one other as their my-way-or-the-highway doctrines conflict?

For two years, Jeremy Hunley sorted magazines and shelved books as a library clerk at Patrick Henry College in Purcellville.

He enjoyed the work, thought the recently founded college's students were smart and polite and believed in the mission of the school: to mold academic superstars into Christian leaders. A born-again Christian himself, Hunley said he felt at home.

That is, up until the day last year when he was told to resign or be fired. The reason: He believes baptism is essential for salvation.

College administrators told Hunley, a member of the Church of Christ, that the belief put him at odds with the school's statement of faith, which he was required to sign before taking the job. According to the 10-point document, salvation is found only through faith in Jesus Christ.

1. Is this not a chilling, frightening situation?
Here is a college hawking factional fundamentalist propaganda to kids who have been raised in isolation from the rest of the world and funneling these Christ-bots into government service.

Can you spell Taliban?

The home-school movement was always, in my opinion, a cover for racism and bigotry and elitism. Here, we see it taken a few giant steps further.

Democracy is really under attack from all quarters in this nation.

2. Kinda harsh...
I guess they've got the right to fire him though. I don't really agree with their action, but it is a private, religious organization.
