Well-done meat doubles bladder cancer risk
Research has already shown that frying, grilling and barbecuing until meat is charred can form carcinogens. Now these carcinogens have been definatively linked to bladder cancer.

Eating lots of meat, especially if it is overcooked, increases the risk of bladder cancer, say experts.

In a study, people whose diets included well-done meats were over twice as likely to develop bladder cancer than those who preferred meats rare.

The University of Texas investigators found the risk was highest for those who ate well-done red meat such as steaks, pork chops and bacon. But even chicken and fish, when fried, significantly raised the odds of cancer.

Three major types of the cancer-causing chemicals, collectively called heterocyclic amines (HCAs), raised cancer risk by more than two-and-a-half.

1. What if you like it burnt on the outside and raw on the inside?
My grandma always said, "A little burnt is good for you." WAS MY GRANDMA WRONG???

2. Almost anything these days is bad for you
Undercooked is bad because of bacteria, overcooked is carcinogens, red meat = bad, salt = bad, sugar = bad, etc. A diet that's good for you is pretty boring and bland, imo.

3. Even E. coli on organic veggies
Yup, there's not a damn thing that's 100% safe to eat. Might as well stick with the oldest diet advice there is: eat a well-balanced, moderate diet.

7. Key phrase IMO = "Eating lots of meat"
.
.
.

If one does not eat much of anything, it's effects are minimal.

I've eaten raw meat, fish, veggies - no bad effects

But I don't eat a "regular" regimen of food

I balance it out with how my body reacts.

I've noticed that most people I know eat a "regular" diet - bacon eggs, toast for breakfast, sandwiches for lunch, and a dinner heavy on meat potatoes and veggies.

I find that an IRREGULAR diet keeps my body happier.

I listen to my body
