Cocoa Krispies won't save you from H1N1...
http://www.healthzone.ca/health/newsfeatures/swineflu/article/720794--cocoa-krispies-won-t-save-you-from-h1n1?bn=1

As H1N1 hysteria grows, some people are trying everything from onions to homeopathy to fend off the vicious bug.

<snip>

Dr. Allison McGeer, director of infection control at Mount Sinai Hospital, says she thinks a lot of people are "out to make money out of swine flu."

<snip>

When it comes to homeopathy, McGeer says there are two kinds of people: those who honestly believe their medicine will help, and scammers.

"There's any number of homeopathic remedies and vitamins and herbs ... and a whole list of things that people are trying," she says. But the only things proven to fight H1N1, she says, are vaccination and washing your hands.

3. All things considered,
people who most should stay home when sick, will not stay home. And mainly this is min wage restaurant workers, who need every penny they can earn, have no sick leave and cannot afford to miss even one day of work. Not a good thing, but reality.

5. I was angry last night when some bimbo with store bought boob
show up for bowling and announced that her entire family had the swine flu. There she was (because she can'r pass up a chance to show them off) spreading it all around.

BTW, these people are wealthy. Her husband was burned as a child and has tons of money in the bank.

9. I actually got fired from work because I had a fever and didn't want to prepare any food
I was working for a Little Caesar's franchise in Michigan and was the shift supervisor opening the store. I was the only one working and none of the other managers would answer the phone, so I left messages and staggered home. For keeping the public health in mind, I lost my job. It was one of the crappiest jobs I've had anyway, but it's a shitty reason to get fired.

10. Now would be an excellent time to....
stay away from restaurants completely. Not just the good chance that employees are in to work sick, but folks that feel too sick to cook..so go to restaurants sick..touch menues, chairs, tables, etc. Restaurants have got to be big petri plates of H1N1. At least the possibility is strong for it.

8. I have co-workers that will not stay home when they are sick.
We get sick days and most of these people have about 100 hours banked because THEY DON'T STAY HOME WHEN THE ARE SICK. Luckily we don't share offices but still I get very upset when the guy in the next office, who is one of the worst offenders, starts hacking and sneezing and blowing his nose. A few years ago he came in sick and passed it around and it turned into pneumonia in one co-worker. She is still mad at him for that
