Aetna Inc. said Friday that Missouri has renewed and expanded a state health-care contract with the company’s Missouri Care plan.
The new contract, effective in October, adds the state’s Eastern and Western regions, including St. Louis and Kansas City, to the Missouri Care contract, according to a release from Aetna (NYSE: AET).
Programs in the contract include MO HealthNet for Kids, MO HealthNet for Pregnant Women and MO HealthNet for Families.
The new contract adds 26 counties to the 28 mid-Missouri counties already served by Missouri Care.
The release didn’t include financial terms, and the information was not immediately available from an Aetna spokesman.
